This will be a backs to the wall famous Blades win, think Boro home 18/19. If anyone can guide us to victory Wilder can, those going need to get behind the team from the 1st minute.

That's not the first time you've used the phrase
Last seasons Centre back pairing who conceeded a hundred goals

Disingenuous at best, we rarely played with a centre back pairing all season
They were a pair alright...a pair of Charlie's most of the time

Still not learning are you? 1 loss and 1 draw at home since you started with the the 100 point bollocks. Seen the state of the team and injuries recently? We are not Piggy HMS piss the league nor massive. Understated and pessimistic is the Blades Way.

We had a bit of a blip, we will turn it round. Happy new year

With every team getting so many injuries, surely the league needs to look at this situation. Games don't become entertaining but dour, hope we don't lose the game or players. Maybe the league need to go to 20 or 22 teams and add a 5th division. Either way, needs addressing.
Tbf the 24 team division predates the injuries list.

Current sales for tomorrow...42,635 Total Sold. 745 Seats For Sale from open blocks

This must be what it feels like to be an attendance-obsessed 🐷. I think I might like it 🤡
Anyone that is going tomorrow that has never been to the stadium of light is in for an eye opening experience. Superb stadium, and still got the "Roker Roar"

1. Injuries key to chances. Hoping some (Vini Jesus Campbell Seriki?) have been held back to play this game. (ALWAYS the optimist)

2. Lucky Hamer playing - if he is. C/Should have been sent off second booking (Ah the drawbacks of all these U-22's eh Wilder)

3. More key are +ve tactics - MUCH better attitude than previously last game. Went out to win and should have.

PLUS playing players in correct position. He hasn't corrected that yet even on Saturday and this has been a disaster for over 12 months.

4. Recalled Loans? I'm saying we don't with 'woman scorned' Wilder.

5. Hoping no one will recall our loans. ie Jesus - Chelsea no interest Gilchrist unless for sale and will he want to go outside a(n unlikely) Prem team? I'm saying no he'll want to stay.

6. More loans? Would be great to have cameras on the training ground 24x7. (Loan) window opens. Could have trained today. Attacking players can go straight in any team. - can surely set up even for 28 day window if owning club not sure what end of Window holds. I don't see why this can't be done with a couple of the maximum 8 with only 3 used and surely Sooty no longer restricts us?

Settle for draws next 2 away games coming up. Hope for better. No one can predict re above.

As Saudi49er says. THINK LONG TERM. Plenty of points to win yet with good tactics and couple of genuinely good transfers in FOR THIS SEASON and promotion.
Wow….first sensible post from you that I’ve ever read….happy new year⚔️

Newcastle fans winding up Sunderland.

Don't we play good tactics?

Not a good time going to Sunderland with half a dozen first teamers out injured but we have to keep going and hopefully one of the stand ins will grab his chance and become a hit .

An easier solution would be to extend the season until the 10th of May. You’d be able to fit in 2 more games during that week Tuesday and a Sunday. All playoff games for all leagues then take place on the same days. Same for the finals, but instead of playing them all at Wembley you use St James park for league 2, Old Trafford for league 1 and Wembley for the championship. The tv people could then coin it “EFL Finals Day” with games dovetailed throughout the day. It would improve atmosphere nationally, but also at the game, so many L1 and L2 finals have 20 to 40k seats empty.

Both sides missing key players. Sunderland at home. A quick, attack minded squad v a group of tiring knackered lightweights?

Here’s hoping we get another positive result from an inconsistent performance by Blades!

point up there would be a fantastic result imo but expecting a 2 - 0 defeat

I’ve always been very sceptical reading posts where supporters have dreams of the result, but having eventually dropped off asleep early morning I had my very first dream of the result and as clear as day it was Sunderland 0 - Sheffield United 1. Not taking too much notice of that however, but just passing it on. Oh, and Happy New Year to you all.

It's irritating that Watford will have considerably more recovery time ahead of Saturday, due to the difference between our 12:30 and 20:00 kick off times today

This would never usually happen. If both play on Wednesday usually that's both playing at 20:00

It's not like we even have the option of rotating either. Just the same 13 players of sufficient quality

Real tough one tonight, a point would be a great result but can’t see further than a defeat today,
2-0 home side.

Can’t see anything other than a home win 3-0…..

Depleted and deflated at that the minute.

Burnley blink first, 0-0 with Stoke at Home without mustering a shot on target (plus Hannibal given his marching orders)
A small New Year sprinkling of positivity amongst the black clouds of our usual pessimistic Match Thread regulars.

What do you see in Sunderland that you think they put 3 past us? We’ve got a Sunderland fan here saying they have injuries to two of their stand out players, just as we have, and that he thinks it will be a draw..
