It was said the other day that Wilder was meeting with the new owners to discuss transfer strategy.

Hopefully a few things change from the previous regime.

As in we speed up the process in making signings, we don't just identify 1 target and spend all month chasing him, we are more robust in getting the signings done, and we don't sign any injury prone players.

I'm still half asleep but currently we seen to need, at the minimum 2 wingers (Brooks maybe on loan to a Wycombe/Stockport type near top of L1) + one or two centre forwards.

I have no doubt Wilder will be backed in January. But if we start to drift down the table - make no mistake the new owners will not hesitate to make a change of Manager. The attitude of US businessmen to hiring & firing managers based on ‘results’ is much more cutthroat. Don’t forget he’s only got 6 months left on his contract.

I think Chris has done a fabulous job - but the landscape & expectation has changed significantly now with new owners who only have one objective…….to make money = promotion to the Premier League asap.

yes thats the minimum requirement with bbd not being in saints squad yesterday that looks nailed on and vibes about tyler morton also suggest hes on his way as well the other 2 signings will be very interesting

Definitely, but I’d be happy to wait a few weeks for the right signings. Similar to how we handled our business in the summer.

I think my worry there is that we have a tough few games. If we drop badly then we need to recover quickly and these signings may well not be match fit. We have Cardiff, Swansea and Hull. Need to take points really from all those.

Not sure those problems are only related to us, but we seem like we drag things out a lot or take risks

Think they’ll know the targets and probably the budget, so it should hopefully be a plan for now and the medium term as well

As others have said … Wilder is getting the absolute maximum from a very limited squad

It is an anomaly that we are where we are not the expectation.

If we want to maintain a top 6 place we need minimum 4 players in Jan.

Of real quality not one’s for the future

We really are HMS shithouse this season … we play so badly but find a way… if we can add quality to that mindset we will be ok but if we think just judging and puffing will be enough forget it.

And if we go up we would need an entire new team to have a sniff if staying up

Agree that's how I see it.

BBD and Tyler Morton deals were already set up with both coming....even with the Prince in charge.
The Prince would have been struggling to bring in anything more.

However now we have new owners....
I suppose Wilder wants to know if we can bring in those 2 plus an additional player or 2 and what the Jan budget will be.

Agree but it doesn't really matter, any time spent in the PL seriously boosts a clubs finances.
Even if we're instantly relegated we should easily have one of the best teams in Championship for another promotion in 2027.

Think if we're promoted then the club will aim to buy up and coming Championship stars (like some of the Sunderland youngsters, the midfielder Bellingham and the winger Watson) instead of buying tried and tested experienced PL players.
