It's some feat for Oné to convince an experienced manager with exacting standards around workrate and application that he was worthy of a start over a vastly experienced international forward signed for a six-figure fee and who had a point to prove. I wasn't at the Lane on Saturday but I'm encouraged by most of what I've read on here. It should also be noted that his goal against Bristol City wasn't easy, he showed good anticipation and desire to finish that one and that bodes well for the future.
As raul says though, we shouldn't really be in the position where we are asking an 18 year old whose main first team experience is in the Scottish lower divisions to lead the line for us. There's an element of misfortune with our other three senior forwards in various stages of disrepair.

I must be too young to remember McGuire. Where did he end up?Would love him to become a top player for us but sadly he shows no signs of being one even at 18. When you have been fortunate enough as I have to have seen Mick Jones, BIrchenall, Badger and Woodward, Walker, Mcguire and others come through as 18yr olds then you don't get to carried away with a lad that looks out of his depth.
