once he gains some confidence the performances will come, wilder wouldnt persevere if the tools were not there
Now where have I heard this before?............hmmmmmmmm, let me think............

Oh yes ,I remember now, about thirty or forty times over the last FIVE seasons.
The only reason Wilder is persevering with him is because he was the one that sanctioned the £23 million deal. He can't just leave him out after that can he!
Deep down he must know Brewster is not what we all hoped for.

You can only recall players during a transfer window. So if we loan him out in January, we can only recall him in the summer window, by which point, he'll be out of contract
Unless you loaned him to non-league. And I don’t think Wilder or Brewster would take that sort of hit on their pride!

we should loan him out to get a run of games , with a recall option in case it works

campbell had his had barren spells , again through missing games but seems to have struck a seam of gpld , gold gold I tell you
We can’t loan him until January and any loan would take him to the end of the season. You can’t recall players until the next transfer window.

Nice lad, but it seems pointless playing him over someone like Marsh, who’d benefit more from getting minutes and experience.

I’d be surprised if Rhian isn’t injured again by the time 2025 comes around.

How long are we giving him before he ‘comes good’. 35, 55, 78 years old? Let’s just buy him a retirement home whilst we’re about it, we can wheel him out as a cheerleader for any promotion’s we might achieve in the next 50 years. This kid will have cost the club by my reckoning, £35 million. For five goals. This is Richard Cadette levels of crap. He needs to be released and soon. The £35k a week wages can be put towards another loan striker for the run in.

Agreed 100%….paying £23 million does not mean that there is a good player somewhere in him. People need to stop trying to use that to justify him. His injuries have not helped, but his time is almost up with us new. It was a dreadful signing.

Unless he can play nearly every game left this season and bang in 15 goals…. he’ll not be here next season.
I remember his first few games and feeling incredibly disappointed.

Get him out on loan in January, he's not going to get a new contract in the summer, so get him off the wage bill as soon as. He's been unlucky with injuries and I'm sure he is a lovely lad but it's never going to happen for him at Sheffield United. If he sighs a pre-contract agreement in January with another team with a view to joining them as a free agent in the summer, I'd be inclined for a mutual termination and let them have him for free in January.
I'd be surprised if anyone is prepared to pay even a grand a week for him, leaving us to pay the remaining 34.
I'd still try to get him out though

One day I will look at our match day squad and I won't see Brewster in the starting XI and I won't see him on the subs bench either.
And the reason will not be because he is injured or suspended, but because our squad simply has too many better options...what a great day that will be.

It would be a shot to nothing offer on a low wage or even pay as you play, no one else at this level is going to offer him anything,
He's not going to sign a pay as you play contract.
I reckon someone in Div 1 or 2 will take a chance and give him a 1 year deal on low wages and maybe an appearance bonus.

We can’t release him unless we pay him off (or he does the right thing and agrees to walk away without a pay off in lieu of 4 years of shit performances and injuries). Therefore there’s no magical £35k to bring in a loan striker.

With Wilder still picking him for the bench and bringing him on over other players, I have a bad feeling he's still willing him to come good. With that in mind, it wouldn't shock me if we offered him another year. Hopefully that will be on drastically reduced terms, but you never know with us. Just to be clear, I personally think we should let him go in the summer, I would imagine no one over the level of League 1 in England would be interested purely based on his injuries. Maybe someone overseas will give him a 2 or 3 year deal?

That just about sums it up 👍

Like what? What does he actually bring to the game? Not being a twat. Just a genuine question.
If you can't see it you never will, the lad has just had really rotten luck whilst he has been at the lane.

He works hard for the team brings his team mates into the game wins free kicks.

He just needs a run of games whether he will get that is a different matter.

If I can’t see what though? Because there’s absolutely nothing to see.

Struggles to influence games, can’t shoot, can’t seemingly pass the ball, has zero attacking nous, makes reckless challenges putting us on the back foot. Looks like a fan dragged onto the pitch to make up the numbers every single time he plays.

He’s laughably bad at every basic action you expect from a professional footballer.

Sounds really harsh. But that’s the truth unfortunately.

That is just your opinion, Wilder is not one for sentiment either if he didn't think he was good enough he would not be in the team.

Next few games could be crucial in his career if he gets the minutes and manages to back a goal or two we may see him kick on.

According to CW, Brewster had a good 15/20 mins yesterday 🤔

He needs that new start here without fans getting on his back. There is a saying you don't know what you have till it's gone but United fans or a section of them have been on his back since day one much like they were with McBurnie. He's a good kid who has worked hard to get through bad injuries time the fans gave him a break and some support.
Id love to see him do his business here. How long do you give him?

If he doesn’t do it this season he never will & we’re close to half way through and he hasn’t so far. Big 5 months ahead for his future.

Personally I don’t see it improving for him unfortunately. Prior to the Blackburn injury I was optimistic but he simply can’t play 20-25 games without getting injured

I'm amazed that people still think , after five years of abject failure, he is going to come good.
The same people come out with the same stock phrases, 'he just needs a run of games'

It's the opinion of many ,not just one poster. Wilder gave the go ahead for the £24 million transfer, so sentiment doesn't come into it. He has to play him in the forlorn hope he will come good. HE WONT.

But by all means you keep on dreaming.
