There was a lot wrong with that performance tonight but focusing on the positives we showed real heart to stay in the game and basically we're well on top and looking stronger as game went on

I'm getting increasingly frustrated with hamer
Just doesn't look fit

What can you say, Cooper, the confidence i have in that lad, stood there for penalty, just said he's gonna save this badger. Don't think we can downplay the psychological impact this will have on us and Sunderland, think we may have just knocked them out of the race. Absolutely huge shithouse of a win, fucking outstanding.

My view on the game from a Sunderland perspective,

SAFC the better team in the first half and Sheffield United the better team in the second period.

Sunderland cant expect to miss a penalty and give up other clear cut opportunities and not pay the price and in the end you always pay the price for missing gilt edged opportunities.

You now have to go back 7 games for our last win and I wouldn't oppose anyone saying that we haven't got the legs or the squad for the long drawn out affair that this league is. We have some serious thinking to do or we will fade away and find ourselves on the edges of the top 6 if we aren't careful. Draws and losses get you nowhere.

I've got no complaints with the result and the top 3 will march on. Whether we will see you again later on in the season remains to be seen.

A sobering night for Sunderland.
Sunderland are a good team, pacey, skillful and athletic. I thought you were unlucky.

But you could see Sunderland running out of energy and ideas by about the 65th minute,.at which point I thought we're going to win this

Weird game of football though 10 v 10

I just don't think playing the left side suits him. Not sure why Wilder switched Hamer and O'Hare's position again. Should be O'Hare playing left side.

I thought Sunderland were the better team but when you look at the stats apart from sharing the possession 50-50 we shaded everything else

Delighted we've managed to drag a win out of that. Looking at the game overall, I reckon we were the better side by a tiny margin.

Sunderland look like a side which is regressing back to the mean. They were exceptional early on in the season, but results of late have tapered off. Their general lack of experience, with their squad having the lowest average age in the league, puts them highly at risk of erratic results & performances. And this month that has very much come true - five draws and a loss, and 4 games they've failed to score.

They were highly reliant on the lad down the left for their creativity - very little came from them that didn't involve him at least partially. I was so pleased when he went off - and felt we could push on for the win.

Excellent from Cooper again tonight. Made a vital save when called upon that allowed us the chance to go on and win. He's been fantastic so far, especially this week when he's had all sorts going on in front of him with the sending off we've had.

Chuffed for Tom Davies too. I went to Luton last year and thought he played great there, especially the tackle he won for the third goal. I've been waiting and hoping for him to come back as he's a real talent. Shown a small portion of that tonight, and I hope he goes on to show more.

Very poor from Souttar. I missed his first yellow, but the challenge he makes for his second is one you absolutely can't make when you're already booked. Very naive defending, and now we're struggling for cover against West Brom.

The games like this, where you scrape out a win, are the ones that win promotions, that win titles, trophies etc. I hope that when this season is done, we can look back on tonight as a key moment in us achieving something special.

We take those. Fuck knows what our defence will look like at WBA though

LOL - very sporting of you.

Best team won and we have some thinking to do.

I've enjoyed the craic today and I'll be back later on in the season for the return game.

Best of luck.
Don't worry about one or two of them mate.
Sunderland were unlucky to lose tonight,

But they should make up the ground on us in the next couple of weeks because we no longer have a defence

You know, it wasn't until I just checked Livescore now that I remembered Cooper saved a pen. A weird game

I think gilchrist goes to centre half and seriki goes to right back, seriki has been great when he's played, he's better than gilchrist going forward and as regards defending in think he's on a par.
Tonight we played better when he came on and we played more on the front foot

HT.
Never mind the shit referee.
AGAIN!
Wilder's imbecilic tactics destroying us again.
OHare - chocolate teapot.
Jesus - touched the ball about twice.
Hamer ineffectual re wrong side.
Impetus none existent re 'pass and control' aka PepShit cocoa imbecilic tactics copying.
Learned NOTHING all last season.
Through away the best chance to stay in top division EVER
Will through away this promotion.
(DELIBERATELY??????)
3-5-1 With pace up front
If we've got 3 centre backs counting Gilchrist after getting Trusty out of club for some strange reason.
Was going to say 3-5-2 with Seriki on for OHare but c'est la vie.
Wow I never thought I would hear someone criticise the decision to sell Trusty!!!

Great 3 points against a good side who turned up and played well.

UTB

I am meaning more in terms of how they will play together, not the actual names on the team sheet as they more or less pick themselves

A much better performance tonight than the one on against Oxford, maybe my comments after the Oxford reault were questionable but that's what frustration does. That's one of the top clubs out of the way & hopefully our form continues ....... UTB

I don’t think Sunderland placed Cooper under much pressure especially 2nd half unless I have a selective memory and blanked it, so don’t think they can complain they were robbed…we saved a pen and scored a great goal so edged it

Well you gotta laugh.
Went out shopping cos shit pictures again and I record what comes through anyway plus Will be on line to watch later.
Saw Seriki on before went out but still saw OHare which made my mind up.
Watched pictures without audio TalkSport (woman 'expert' my r's) and started with Radio Sheffield (Gormless Gobshite Giddens generally 'Angel of Death' for local teams).
Get back. See their manager - flashes to 1-0 us as did hope and thought was possible then learn that NOT a booking which did NOT appear on screen as was a red card
(as seen and shown with Sooty) re Campbell!
And a good weekend was had by all REGARDLESS of what happens the rest of it.
Think the best signing we've made this season is Wilder selling his soul to the devil!
Although it's despite the refs from what I'm seeing.
Brook(e)s is batting again if anyone interested. (Talksport 2)

Great win. No point thinking about anything else tonight. Just sit back and be happy.
But at some point in the future when the dust has settled, we need to talk about what we are going to do from a goal-kick if the opposition push right up into the box and cut off short passes to anyone on the edge of the D. Because chipping it forwards to the halfway line and giving them immediate possession 18 times in a row, and then thinking ‘Let’s try it one more time’, is not a foolproof masterplan.

I said during the game how frustrating he is. What a talent but almost everything he tries doesn't come off. When he starts to click he'll be amazing to watch
