Wilder Bottled It

First 10 or so minutes the change worked. Then It didn't. They only got Infront after 70 minutes.

If we hadn't had points deduction we would still be above them.

Nobody wins every game.
They don’t and losing is fine in a game like this. But we didn’t even test them, nor really look to do so. That’s the frustrating thing.

I ALWAYS stick up for Chris, but he showed them far too much respect. Gun shy and negative.
Onto the next.

First decent team we face, and he's done it again, he's fucking useless against any manager with the talent to break him down..

Look at the match stats..

Do not blame the strikers they're not even feeding on scraps.. think Moore looks shit up front, who doesn't in a team that doesn't know how to create the forward a chance or a half chance..

Totally one side game tonight..pathetic.

tipped 2 - 0 leeds no complaints better team by far mistake by wilder changing the set up went there for the point but cant see leeds not finishing top 2 this season

We were poor tonight against a team that has better players no surprises for me including how poor the next England left back (according to some one here) was

Have to agree.
The manner of that loss is on Wilder. It's fine to lose away to Leeds, I think they're going up as Champions.

However, we were riding in as the only unbeaten team in the league and top performing side. No injury concerns...

So why have we gone there, changed the system, dropped our best attacking threat in JRS and made absolutely no attempt to win the game?

At 60 mins, at 0-0, rather than deciding to go after them we make a series of negative / neutral changes and the game is subsequently lost.

Really disappointed with Wilder.
We've gone out the back door tonight. Something his Blades teams very rarely do.

This Moore & O'Hare experiment does have to end now. It doesn't work.
O'Hare can't play that role.

That’s what I can’t understand, how has Wilder watched that first 45-60 minutes and didn’t change it back to 4-2-3-1?

Surely he wasn’t happy with that performance?

Wilder won motm.
First game after international break.

Not believing in luck though. No that wasn't good enough to get PTS from.
I actually could understand the selection. It was perhaps wise and seemed to have promise in the first half of the first half.

But we needed to change before we did 2nd half and we never really got back into it.

We were sloppy and didn't deserve anything. Leeds deserved the win..

This all said I didn't think Leeds were amazing. I feel like come the return fixture I'd fancy us if we are going good guns.

Next several matches now give us a good idea of where we could be looking at finishing. Playoffs are within sight as it doesn't always take alot to finish 6th.

Top 2 will be the meter. Can we be still within that pack after then?

That was rubbish, Leeds are rubbish btw they wont go up auto in million years, but for fuck sake what was that from us? We looked scared shitless! Cant win a tackle, cant track a runner.............................really?
Leeds are very good

We’d have lost with this tonight, Leeds were more up for it tonight than we were.

I don't think we should have changed tactics but we’re not creating enough against bad teams, we wouldn’t have broken Leeds down tonight playing like we have.

We simply need more strength in depth.
Rak-Sayki and Brooks could have had a field day against their full backs but we’ll never know because we set up to defend all night.

I reluctantly agree with everything being said, his line was we go not to lose.
We were really disappointing tonight, I have to blame wilder re the tactics.

Because for the first 15 we were the better team, made changes on the hour and we're the better team again for 5mins before they scored.

I didn't see a system that wasn't working, I saw too many players play poorly.

I don't know what you just watched, but Leeds are excellent.
They've had a really tough set of fixtures and are in the top two.

They're going up and I think it could be very comfortable for them as the competition isn't strong this season.
We're in with a shot at 2nd for the same reason.

As disappointed as I am with the manner of the defeat, they probably would have beaten us regardless.

Didn't throw our best punches. Didn't see our team at all. We lost the midfield battle completely which was the decisive factor in the pattern of play. We couldn't get the ball from our defenders to our midfielders if Anel didn't carry it into midfield himself. It should've been changed at half time.

We had a reluctance to play into the channels or straight up to Moore which was nonsensical given the above problems and the reluctance to change anything. Having said all that, if it wasn't for an elementary defensive mistake from a corner we might shitehouse a 0-1 - people are then calling it an away masterclass blah blah. It's gutting that we didn't see our team at all.

Individual performances were awful tonight I don’t think it would have mattered how we set up. Our players were extremely poor and theirs were better simple as that.

Rak-Sayki and Brooks could have had a field day against their full backs but we’ll never know because we set up to defend all night.
Hindsight’s a wonderful thing, you could flip that and say their front 5 would have had a field day against our usual back 4 and over ran them.

My worry pre game was Hamer tracking Bogle. I agree we should have offered more going forward but I kind of understood the team selection.

The issue for me was we got through the first half and it was noticeable they were getting on top, that was the time to change.

They don’t, but the manner of defeat is what counts. That was cowardly.

How the team responds to it also counts. We’ll learn a lot about the team & Wilder in the next couple of matches.
Don't get the "cowardly" stuff. If he thinks that the shift in formation gives us the best chance to win, do you think he shouldn't do it because it looks negative?

I don’t care who you’re playing to not have a shot on or off target is fucking unforgivable

Wilder tried to overthink it and he’s made us look fucking crap

JRS must be spewing

It’s cowardly

What on earth justification can you give to change a shape that has left you 10 unbeaten with 6 consecutive clean sheets?
