Why is the stand named after her? She's not even a Sheffield United Legend .
Her Husband is the supporter, I don't think she even checks the scores or how we are doing.
The stand should be name after legends such as Currie, Warnock , Bassett, Morgan, Brain Deane, Monty, even Weir would be better than Ennis because at least he has something to do with the club

I once heard that Man City wanted to name one of the stands at Maine Road after Colin Bell.
But then they decided the Bell End didn't have a suitable ring to it for some reason.

Does it though? It looks tacky and an attempt to bask in reflected glory. Bramall Lane End is the best name, perhaps name a stand after a true SUFC legend. But McCabe chose to name it after an athelete who has about as much relevence as the bit of fluff I can see on my carpet as I type this.

Agree. Im sure even Jess would as well.
I think she was abit embaressed by it all when t came around.

Actually when she was interviewed by the bbc, they asked her and they said she looked embarrassed.

"But Ennis-Hill just seems slightly embarrassed when I mention the stand that Sheffield United FC have named after her, before revealing she is yet to sit in it. "I drive past there quite a lot," says Ennis-Hill"

Perhaps because she's a Sheffield legend, an Olympic superstar.

Personally I think it's a great gesture from the club. The commercial gains probably went last year so I hope the stand remains named after her for years to come.

It was always a ridiculous decision and makes us look cheap - like that guy at Burnley (The David Flitwick Stand? Could be Fuckwit, can't remember) or a second division rugby league side.

The Olympics comes around every four years and she's suffered with injury this year.

Personally I like the gesture it's good for the city to have such a world famous athlete and I don't see an issue with the club wanting to celebrate that.

another key word "city". Yeah I agree good for the city, has nothing to do we the club. She doesn't want the stand. David Bassett or Neil Warnock or Chris Morgan would love a stand it would mean so much to them

Totally agree, my personal gripe is the lack of recognition, either by statue or stand naming of John Harris.
