I remember coming away from the QPR match angry and disappointed that we threw away a two goal lead and dropped two points after being in a very commanding position.

But looking back at it now, I think the team learned some very valuable lessons that day and have reaped the benefit of those lessons in the matches since. The last three matches in particular we have seen out relatively comfortably once getting our noses in front.

So as disappointing as a result the QPR match was at the time, the way we've reacted to it since bodes well for the rest of the season.

Dropping Robinson was something that came out of that game. Looked far better since. Not a coincidence.

Still wouldn't say it's our best result...

Probably wrong choice of words from me when I said 'best'. Most valuable result makes more sense.

Reminded me of the Villa game from the other year when Sharp got a hat trick and we capitulated. Much earlier in the season though.

I remember that game spawning a “spineless cunts” theme of threads for a while.

I was just as angry back in 1981 when we were two up at the Lane v Hereford early doors and managed to salvage a draw. Turned out to be a fairly decent season. Mind you we had to ensure a ropey mid September at Boothferry Park (lost 2-1) and Edgeley Park (lost 1-0) before we set off on a march to the title. Learnt our lesson well that day v Hereford. Useless fuckers... 🤬😄

Think the game at Hull was the game when King Edwards scored the late winner against us.

I was fucking furious with them that second half...

You weren't on your own mate...

For me it was Hull away. Felt like one of those games that you win when you get promoted (early call I know). Didn’t play particularly well on the eye but fuck me we were efficient in what we did.
Me too,I think Hull will progress and get better. The manager dropped a bollock that night as he put the little midfielder further forward from his central/roaming role in the second half and it nullified their forward play. It came from out wide then which we generally dealt with.

The best result is always the last result . We are unbeaten , we have a great crop of young lads and the bond between players and fans is back . We at some point will hit a rocky patch and its where we need to stick together.
Portsmouth away Saturday always been a happy hunting ground for me see. Us win their several times but got a feeling it'll bs our first test.
Losing arblaster a huge blow but we havd cover .
We seem better away from home playing on the counter.

Watford at home for me, when it became clear how much our defence had improved from last season, other than the odd half chance, we kept Watford (who had 3 out of 3 wins) at arms length for the entire game.

Sunderland 4-0 Wednesday

If ever a result told them lot to pipe the fuck down, get back in your box, don’t count your chickens, don’t let it go to your head and overall know your damn role jebroni, it was that one.

5 games after winning the league, they are back to it being the whole world is against them, we haven’t had a penalty for a thousand days and these failure payments are unfair…

I’d say Rohl has brought balance to the force quicker than Annakin Skywalker ever did!

😉

I think it’s more we delayed and delayed getting a left sided centre half in the building to replace Robbo. We finally got Souttar and didn’t have time to get him fit to start in the league in time.

We have played pretty similar in every match so far but now we have Souttar there we look 10x stronger.

QPR stands out as the one poor result of the season and the manner of it made it worse.

Everything else has been really efficient and results deserved.
Still not hit our stride in the final third and adding some additional options in January would be very helpful, but the solidity that Souttar and Cooper have brought has given us a real opportunity.

Agree with the poster above, keeping hold of Hamer has been the result of the season.
Without him, we'd have been very toothless in the final third.

I'm feeling cautiously optimistic about our chances.
We will need a bit of luck on the injury front (Arblaster likely to be out for a while according to whispers), we can't really afford too many more.
Our best XI competes with everyone.

Preston away. We found it easy against Ryan Lowe's side. A week later had it been Hecky we faced it would've been very different

What I would say about a Wilder team, we kick on from a bad experience - Our resilience is a huge strength

2016/17 League one start
2018/19 - 3-0 defeat at Boro, the 3-3 at Villa was remarkable and basically got us promotion
2024/25 - Feels like QPR is the turning point again as the OP mentions. I remember coming out frustrated, thinking maybe we're not good enough but the corner we have turned feels very positive, it's the attitude of the players and last years "villains" which strikes me most.
