Not that I need an excuse but to contribute anything regarding Coutts is to once again mention just how good he was for the Blades.

I know there are those who attempt to diminish PC's memory by suggesting that Norwood was an upgraded on Coutts, but on such occasions
all I can do is raise an eyebrow and take the deepest of breath's muttering the incantation that 'only those with eyes to see would ever truly know'.

A great, sublime, masterful, midfield general and then some. Of course Coutts was lucky to have two great players alongside him in Duffy and Fleck,
but he'll always remain one of the very best players we've had. One of those rare breed that you feel was worth parting with your money to have seen.

Superb player and credit to Cloughy for signing him and for Wilder giving him a go after initialy having him on the transfer list. Obviously Cottsy deserves the main credit for turning it round with us, top player.

He was so unfortunate that he picked up that injury post the clumsy tackle from Burton match. He was on superb form at that point.

I took my daughter to her first game at the Lane in 2017 v Wolves. She had not seen a live game before [lived in nyc]
Her first words to me was 'Wow that guy has the ball all the time' he's brilliant! .
It was my first live game as well for a long time and Paul Coutts was completely in charge that night.
You could hear the ball going where it was meant to go and it was a pleasure to watch.
You were a fantastic footballer Paul and thanks for everything.
NEVER GIVE THE BALL AWAY.

I doubt we'll ever see a United midfield as good as Coutts-Fleck-Duffy again in our lifetimes. Absolutely sublime football.
Hamer, Souza, Arblaster could be as good in fairness! Will just have to see on that but exciting times. O'Hare is obviously the most likely Duffy too and is probably going to be as good if not better.

Good but not at the level of the original trio. The fluidity and movement of Coutts-Fleck-Duffy was glorious to watch. Absolutely controlled games from start to finish, dismantled teams.
I agree, but my hope is that these three will become an unforgettable trio as their recent predecessors.
