A good defender gets touch tight either before or just as an attacker receives the ball,he and a few others never did that. In other words he wasn’t a good defender, neither were most of them.

Agent Larouci. Brooksy will have him on toast 1st September.

I have seen Ryman league division one south and west reserve team football. A level below where Chris Hussey at 17 looked absolutely quality.

Larouci is one of the worst footballers I have seen. The second he went off they stopped focusing down our left.

Rak-Sakyi had a tougher time once that joker went off. Absolutely no idea why Watford thought he'd do a job.

No reason to be hostile to Larouci. It's not his fault we signed him

We moved OHare further to the right than he's been before to double up with Sakyi. That was surely to target Larouci

He had one or two opportunities to score. That would have been funny

He'll be decent at this level anyway. Especially now he's had his hair cut...

Don't think he played that badly, but would much rather have the three LB's we have.

Booing him for being shit last season is dumb imo, he tried but he's just a bit wank, as I assume he'll demonstrate this season. If the lad's not even Championship standard, what hope did he have last season?

I know there's a whole other thread that has been dragged down the booing rabbit hole, but I won't get angry at anyone booing any of the players from last season.

Time will show it to be one of the (if not THE) worst put to together, coached, prepared teams in PL history. Lee Sharpe's autobiography talks about Bradford under Paul Jewell calling themselves the Dog & Duck XI, and I think they'd have turned us over.

Larouchi is one of the poster boys for last season, so can fully get behind giving him pelters. If for no other reason, it's cathartic for us to externalise that angst...

Agree- let the players who are still here have a bit of a view of what it could be like if they don't keep up their grovelling efforts... Anel and Souza I'm looking at you!

Absolutely. If either of them had left this Summer, I'd be all for booing them every time they touched the ball next time they came to the Lane... Guess that would upset some of the armchair fans round these parts....

Yeah, I'm not angry at anyone and it was relatively few people doing it.

I just think all the context you provide about how badly put together, coached, motivated that team was made it impossible for anyone to play to a decent level. If nobody is up for it, nobody believes, nobody is playing well, you don't have any platform or opportunity to impress.

That doesn't mean more shouldn't have been demanded and expected from more senior, established players like Anel etc, but Larouci, Traore, Slimani? Just felt bad for em.

Couldn't agree more. However the caveat i would put out there is we saw yesterday from Peck and McCullum, even if the talent is lacking, coming on and getting stuck in and running like your life depends on it requires very little talent.

Aye, I just feel that when you're playing in a team that's good for the level and has some fight in it, that's so much easier.

Imagine the dressing room for our first game and last season; those from last season knowing what's coming, knowing we are weaker without IN, SB and TD, lack of experience, manager knows we're in for a hammering and are massively under prepared.

Every game after just ready for the inevitable. We know we're going down, we know we aren't good enough to beat anyone, injuries pile up. I'm not trying to let anyone off, but I think even players with brilliant attitudes would struggle in that toxic environment.

Yasser was fucking clueless, but had he come to us in the Championship under Wilder in 2018/19 to play LWB, you can guarantee he'd have looked 100x better in a confident, structured unit. (Even if ultimately he'd not be good enough)
