New owners… right in the middle of the cross over… the new guys have fucked it, instead of challenging this season for the sake of spending 10m in what ever format loans, purchases, they’ve now gambled on a threadbare squad, which isn’t deep enough in key area, to trying to get promotion next year when more investment and the risk of selling players and investing more in the team is needed. Feels like a massive missed opportunity, the last few owners have zero strategy it seems….. I don’t expect us to ever get back in the top division in the rest of my lifetime. We have over £100m player assets, no ambition.

Agree, one of the weirdest transfer windows I can ever remember.

Overall it was all going so well, on course to be one of our best windows ever.
So many positives and overall we're stronger than last year.

Yesterday we were so close to having a great play-off squad.
The suggestion was we just needed another striker (someone smaller and nippy) and maybe a centre back.

However weirdly instead of bringing in 2 new players....we've lost 2 players.....Trusty and Slimane.
Also we've only got 1 proper striker....and he's just a target man type.
Seems like we're saying to Brewster.....the shirt is yours.....you can play basically every match to help you get back into some scoring form.

It's like something major has happened. How does a club go from showing ambitions to be a top 6 team with some great signings...then in the final hurdle we've given up and stopped trying. Makes zero sense. Wonder what's happened?

Looks like our hopes are being pinned on Brewster finding some scoring form. Agree.....don't think top 6 is do able.
Hopefully we'll still be top half and in the Jan window we'll show some ambition and bring in a decent striker.

However as mentioned by John Mathison above.....looks like the new owners are only half supporting Wilder.
Maybe they aren't bothered if he struggles because then they can bring in their own man......and give him funds in January.

Well that’s disappointing but not unexpected. Shipping out two more, regardless of their quality, thereby increases both the stress and risk on squad depth. I wouldn’t say we’re doomed, but an injury or two to the first 11 and we’re weaker as it stands.

KM needs rotation, and RB isn’t that, they’re not like for like, and as much as I want RB to thrive, it’s a huge ask considering his injury record. One minor niggle might have him out for a game or ten, then what? KM blowing out his arse every game?

I can only think we have so much attacking threat in the middle that the idea is they’ll be the joint top scorers between them this season.

Let’s also hope Anel and Souza can turn their performances round now they’re here til January at the earliest.

Was pretty sure we would push on this week and get at least a couple more through the door to help squad depth. I'm sure we were confident this would happen.
