It's hard to get behind the defence when every cross comes from the goal line, cut back along the ground or at knee height to the edge of the six yard box. Our build up play with crosses is predictable, ineffective and largely crap.A striker who can run would be a start, we can work on the ‘behind defences’ bit when he signs.
I think you have to take it when you can, ready or not.We will not be good enough to survive in the PL until 2026/27
I don’t know if I’ll live that long, been waiting 72 feckin years. Be just my luck to miss outWe will not be good enough to survive in the PL until 2026/27
I agree, but I don’t think that is the club’s business plan.I think you have to take it when you can, ready or not.
To wait 2/3 seasons would be the worst business plan… ever!I agree, but I don’t think that is the club’s business plan.
True, but I suggested we wait only one season and then go for it: hence 2025/26.To wait 2/3 seasons would be the worst business plan… ever!
You said 26/27… but never mind all that… the only way to progress in the modern era is to be in the premier league. It’s do or die… there’s no “let’s leave it a season or two” just look at Norwich for exampleTrue, but I suggested we wait only one season and then go for it: hence 2025/26.
To go up again unready would be worse than going up ready to stay for a few seasons.
Apologies. 2026/27 is when we give the PL another go. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear. You said 26/27… but never mind all that… the only way to progress in the modern era is to be in the premier league. It’s do or die… there’s no “let’s leave it a season or two” just look at Norwich for example
I think Villa might have realised his true value after his season with us. I'll bet they're happy to get good money for him (again). The deal lacked ambition.
I'm sure Southampton aren't obligated to sell him if relegated.
Leroy Lita, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Callum Wilson, Cameron Jerome, Britt Assombalonga
Shakes head in agreement........no chance of pre-season ambition, which might suggest there's a chance we'll weaken the side by selling our best players before the season startsI think you have to take it when you can, ready or not.
