Weir sacked

Agreed.
But will the next manager fall foul of the dressing room divisions or go in there & knock some skulls together.

A period of silence from certain players would be most welcome. Their 'talent' does not entitle them to an opinion, does it Ted?

Sad state of affairs for all concerned. Why could the club not have offered some support to him with him being a new manager. Cough may provide stability?

Surely now is the time to do something we could never have done before. When have/if we ever had the potential backing we have now? Hoddle is a great shout (however would question the desire to start something that could take years). Mick McCarthy would kick some ass i assume for those who want pure passion from players. Here is your salary. Here is your kitty based on league 1 as and when we go up the chest gets bigger.

Sad for Weir but it had to be done. I wish him well for the future but it just wasn't meant to be.....too radical a change at the wrong time.

As for replacements, I would give Cloughie a go. If they haven't already made a decision I would give Morgan a chance to prove himself as well.

The club is cursed.

The managers job is a poisoned chalice.

Collectively the players are simply NGE.

Good luck to the new bloke cos you will need it in spades !!

UTB.

Are you a pig ?

So because I :

A) disagree with you
B) don't want Morgan in charge (as has already been announced for Sunday)
C) don't agree with constantly sacking managers
D) want long term thinking from the club

I am accused of being a pig......rolls eyes.

Does it really matter after this latest fiasco?
Give me any chuff who can win us games by the simple method of scoring more goals than the opposition. If the men in charge of appointing can't get it right I'm sure I haven't got a friggin clue.....so bring him on whoever he may be!

Is it ok for Radio Sheffield to talk about the possibility of Weir being sacked, now that he's been sacked and all that?

The performances this season have been truly awful & completely unacceptable. It was a gamble appointing Weir but nobody could have expected it to go this badly. Personally I don't think he displayed any of the attributes of a good manager. I'm glad he's gone but wish him well.

Now more than ever we should not go for the cheap option. If we need to pay compensation for the right man then we should do that.

Not too inspired by the choice of Clough. He didn't really do much at Derby.

If the sheikh has got some lolly now is the time to make a big statement. My preferred choices

1. Martin O'Neill
2. Ron Atkinson
3. Kevin Keegan

You are a sensible Blade, mate. Don't be deterred, by Bladey Blades, from speaking out for common sense and footballing principles.

Listening to Football Heaven some people are never bloody happy. Moaning that Weir wasn't doing it, moaning at the timing he was sacked and moaning that he wasn't given enough time. I swear some Blades just want something to moan at.

Nobody keen on Russell Slade? done very well at Orient, gets his players to play for the shirt and his sides seem to be a very close knit unit. Thats whats needed.

I cannot think of a more uninspiring choice. I'm genuinely amazed that people haven't been both bored into submission, and don't want at least a step up in verve.

That's not a call for Warnock or Pulis but Clough - please, please no. Sadly, I fear there's something in this.

UTB

Why wouldn't Clough be able to step it up?

Aren't you stereotyping Clough in the same binary way you accuse Pinchy of doing with footballing styles?

O'Neill, McCarthy, Di Matteo, Pulis, Warnock, Johnson...

You've got to laugh. What planet are the people on who keep regurgitating these names?

None of these people would touch us with a fucking barge pole.

I think some would prefer to be the drummer in Spinal Tap. But it always proves to be a lucrative 3-6 months for the managers with a nice pay day after a number of games.

I think the Prince will want to have a big say this time.
