Seems to be heading that way. Can't say I've paid any attention to him since his Brentford days when he was highly rated at this level and got a bit move. Can't we have him and Souttar
I had a look at Souttar's playing record recently, he has only played 2 full seasons, which were between 2019-21 and one was for Fleetwood Town and he has made only 41 appearances in last 3 seasons . I know Mepham was not always first choice for Bournemouth, dunno if it was the same for Souttar or injuries.Seems to be heading that way. 61 PL appearances
46 Wales caps
Decent age and I'm assuming he is still good with the ball. Might be a decent partner for Souttar.
As said previously in this thread I don't think he's played anywhere near a full season which is concerning.
If / when Anel leaves, this could be a goer.
Can’t honestly remember any of his games against us, take it your not a fan.Hope not
Replacing Anel with an inferior replacement the Blades way
Inferior? Anel’s a defender that can’t defend.Replacing Anel with an inferior replacement the Blades way
We'd be very light at the back if we didn't sign one or two more.Anel's replacement is surely already here in the form of Harry Souttar. He already has competition in Gilchrist. Any additional cover should be a speculative punt on a younger development option or a cheap veteran. Would prefer to see the big money spent on a really good striker or LCB (particularly if we move Trusty on - but I'm not sure who we would bring in).
We also need a JLT replacement. He won player of the season for attitude, not performance, that's how low the bar we set last season. We'd be very light at the back if we didn't sign one or two more.
But would agree Souttar is probably the Anel replacement.
If anything costs us promotion this season it will be that useless lump.We also need a JLT replacement. He won player of the season for attitude, not performance, that's how low the bar we set last season.
He's OK in a back 3, he's already proven he's not up to it in 2.
That I doCertainly live up to your name don't you![]()
Mepham isn't the answer played 61 times in the last 5 yearsInferior? Anel’s a defender that can’t defend.
Room mate for Brewster?Mepham isn't the answer played 61 times in the last 5 years
Would definitely keep him company I dare say, we missed a trick not trying to push for Ronnie Edwards from Peterborough who is a steal at 4m and will be worth at least 5x that if not more by end of the season at SouthamptonRoom mate for Brewster?

I would agree with you if it looked like we are going with a three. I think we'll use a three now and then, but we seem to have moved primarily to a four.Surely Souttar replaces Egan ?
Would be in the middle if we play 3.
Who Davies gonna bunk with?Room mate for Brewster?
