If you're driving, be prepared for possibly one of the most tedious drives to be found in England.
Enlivened only by playing spot the different varieties of dead animals on the A47.

In Essex based so drive won't be too bad!!

Just in case it's useful for any future fans, I will summarise all the preparations I will be doing ready for the weekend:

Practise kidney punches

Buy some first rate clobber from river island (don't get the attraction)

Find a local colliery to buy some coke from. Always thought it was done by the sack load but will see if they will sell me a gram

Get practising karaoke classics in the car

Polish my arse ready for a gleaming debut

If you drive to Norwich parking is shit and it takes ages to get out after.

You also have to stop somewhere for a piss on the way home and if you don’t acknowledge all Blades you see with either “up the Blades” or “all Blades aren’t we” you’ll be accused of being a pig so just suck it up and do it.

Sadly true. Despite a ticket stating a Row and seat number, a few of our supporters seem to have no fuckin awareness of the alphabet nor any perception of numeracy so basically stand where they like. I love away days but some of our fans are twats when they behave like this. Hope you enjoy your day as Norwich is a great city and Carrow Road is a fine stadium.

One of my first away games ( that wasn't local non league down here) I got a lift to the pub by the police in Oldham. Simply look lost and ask some coppers where a certain pub is and you too can meet up with friends and family stepping out the back of a police car after a last minute decision to go to the game 200 miles from home.

It's a football stadium, just a different one. You'll be outnumbered by home fans. Great fun, a lot more chanting. Bit of a rivalry with Norwich since 2018ish.

Personally I've always sat in my allocated seat, but I guess I go to very few away games (unfortunately).

OK, so a little premature on this but I think child care to be confirmed I will get to experience my first away day at Norwich on Saturday.

I am so excited but also now starting to think I am not sure what to expect and don't want to do anything I shouldn't.

Any tips, advice, things not to do etc would be appreciated.

Just run through the town tipping any wheelchair on sight and if you get in a crowd punch kidneys for all you’re worth. It’s what we’re famous for.

I get drunk, sing my head off with the lads and just generally have a good time. Generally it’s a better atmosphere in the away end as your surrounded by people who follow United up and down the country, have been drinking all day and just want to sing throughout.

Just go to the away pubs and don’t go looking for it and you’ll be absolutely fine

I do practise my kidney punches on the punch bag for at least half an hour while drinking 4 cans before I leave the house though.
