This guy in with Brooks as an option down the left and off the bench, we'd have some really good competition for places and have players who can come on and change a game with 20-30 mins to go

Or 5mins if we carry on leaving it late

To be honest i would be reluctant to complete a loan deal for Rak-Sakyi because the demands of his parent club are demanding :

a) 7 figure loan fee at least £1m
b) Option to recall player in January ‘25
C) Guaranteed selection if fit
d) An increase in the players current salary

I am sure he would be an excellent acquisition but i feel Crystal Palace /player are writing the loan agreement too much in their favour, sometimes you think you are being taken for a mug…….if it was me i would look elsewhere,he needs to want to play for us,i get the feeling it’s all about the deal.
If they are demanding selection if fit Shirley that’s 3rd party influence. They can give us incentives to play him ie so much back if he makes X appearances. Not sure how it all works

d) was something WE offered to try to swing the deal our way

Palace can’t force us to play him but they could say when he’s fit if he doesn’t feature, come on the pitch in 75% of his matches then we pay as extra £2 million penalty. However it now sounds like Palace have agreed a deal with us, Hull and possibly Leeds and left it for the player to decide and apparently he’s chosen to come to us.

All that’s needed now is to have the medical and sign the contracts but as we all know with the Diaye and McBurnie situation things can change. Nothing is ever definite until a contract has been signed.

He’s just repeating what already been reported. It means, as reported he’s verbally agreed to join us.

Now it’s just a case of having a medical and signing the paper work (the formalities).

People are 90% confident he’s ours but of course there’s always a 10% chance we could be gazumped right at the end.

Might sound daft but think our convincing performance against PNE might have the effect of making players with the smallest of doubts wanting to play for us.
Especially playing on front of those fans - what an absolute credit to the club they are , considering the shite they’ve had to watch last season

Amazing 🤩

Get this one over the line. Throw in a decent keeper, another striker (or two) and perhaps another defender and I don’t think we’ll be too far away from having the required depth in the squad to maintain competitiveness

But I thought rifleman said he was going to Leeds and I believed him, her, it. Don't tell me he was wrong....again.....must be a 🐽. Hmmmm.

Southampton offered £7-10m or something for him permanently and they turned it down, so if they’re going to loan him to the league below instead then 100% they’ll want assurances of playing time as well as a hefty fee and contributions - no qualms there, they hold all the cards but I’m convinced he’ll be excellent for us.
Completely understand why Palace wish to ensure their player gets week in, week out playing time.....but what if his form dips? Are we expected to have him in a starting position even if he's struggling? Surely there has to some sort of accommodation whereby we decide who's selected based on current form, which acts as an incentive for the loan player to be on his game.

The guy looks like a 'baller, but until he's out on the pitch facing defenders who'd happily put him on his arse then any agreement that insists on playing time makes a mockery of Wilder's role........must say though, from the little I've seen he does look
decent and offers the type of threat any team would love to have on their books.

As you said takeover has fell through it might be a bit ambitious.....then again you maybe full of shit?

I imagine it’ll be tied to the fees. Play a certain % of minutes or make so many starts to avoid financial penalties. Obviously if he isn’t performing then we take the hit financially instead. I don’t think that’s abnormal either, just what tends to come with loaning young premier league players.

Bit like Preston’s rugby tackles last night

I’m pretty sure that was the deal with Ben Woodburn & we opted to pay the money rather than play him.

Gone to Leeds................SHOPPING.
That’s where we went today ! In amongst the dirties. Train full of pommpey fans from changing in Sheffield, they only started a couple of songs when they trooped off the train.

Looks like Brookes - unless someone else leaves

It's a daft article.
Rak-Sakyi is a kid, as is Brooks. It's a long season and the forward options will be rotated.
Brooks can cover a number of different positions, including more centrally and will get plenty of game time.
