Think back to the promotion season under Hecky.
We never dominated virtually an entire game like this in that season
With Hecky's team we have dominant 15 minute spells and scored quality individual goals...then sat back defending really well in numbers.

In this game the defence have almost had the night off ha ha.

However I do think a factor is that PNE might well be a relegation bound team.
They always say "there are no easy games in the Championship", well we've made a mockery of that.
 

O'hare has been a bit too much bollocky for me tonight. A bit like Khadra in his first game. Too many flicks and tricks that just didn't work.
I guess it's a product of too many new players that haven't gelled yet.

Good point.....yes O'Hare has looked class (his close control reminds me of Alex Sabella) but he's showboating with his tricks and flicks some of the time and it's not come off. He had a great chance in the 1st half and tried taking on 2 or 3 players then walking it into the net.

Commentator just said
"On another night if Sheff United were more clinical this would have been 4 or 5 nil" and he's right. Very very easy win.....too easy.

Match now finished, commentator said "it was much more comfortable than the 2-0 scoreline suggests".

On a positive note, he's trying hard to impress. Wilder will sort it out.
 
I think we can forget the talk that we should get shut of Souza asap. MOM by a long way for me.
Lets be honest Preston were horrific. Barely put two passes together.
First impressions of new players. Gilchrist looks safe, Burrows decent, O Hare is going to be a big player for us, Moore solid and will get better.
 

Y'know what, after a summer of worry, tons of negativity, doomsayers saying we're going down again etc etc...I will fucking take that. Solid performance, comfortable win, should have been more than 2.

Arblaster, Brooks, O'Hare, Gilchrist, even Souza the standouts. Few defensive wobbles but that's to be expected. Moore looked off the pace but I think he'll come good.

Fantastic Blades. The start we all wanted but many didn't see coming. We won't be bottom after the first round of games, which is all we could have asked for after starting on minus 2.

Credit to the 3,500 or so who went, you were heard all the way through.

Some Good performances from Brooks, Arblastar, Souza, Ohare, Burrows, Gilchrist.

Expected more from Hamer and Moore.

Everyone else was solid.

I expected more from Hamer, and I know what you mean, but that goal was just filthy. If someone for one of the big 6 did that they'd be wanking themselves senseless over it on MOTD.
 
A rare clean sheet... Does this mean all the bed wetters out there can take day off the laundry?
 
Souza colossus, Ollie composed all round Professional performance. Special mention for A. Davies did nothing wrong and look solid. UTB FTP 👍🏻
 
Wouldn't mind seeing Brooks on the left wing next time. Think it'll suit him more than Gus
 
Good performance against what is on that showing a pretty poor Preston side, who are a seasoned Championship club.
Particularly impressed with both full backs, Souza and Blaster.
O Hare and Hamer just need to calm down a bit but that will come with games.
Moore gives defenders a lot to contend with but we need a really good striker before the end of the window.
Encouraging start and with 3 or 4 additions we have a good squad with a first team as good as anything else in the division.
So important to get rid of that minus straight away.

Easy WIN for Blades tonight. Preston were poor tonight from start to finish. Shame Blades couldn't put more of the chances away tonight and scored a few more.
 
Fantastic performance, but would have liked to see more clinical decision making in the final third.
I hope they learn as well, if you aim at it Moore's head he won't win it, partly because there's nobody to flick it on to.
But put it in to his feet, and he kills it dead, turns, and can only be stopped by being fouled
 

3pts, brilliant performance couldve won that by more. 3-4-0. night & day compared to last season. i cant complain & if we keep that up. this could be very exciting
