Pre-Match Press Conference:

If we lose we equal our club record for consecutive league defeats.

The record is currently held by another Wilder side, the 2020-21 team.

"Some good news by Tuesday": that's either contracts, signings or Takeover

Anyone got/done a quick summary of the press conference ?

I take it that it will up to watch later on?

Not much said that you wouldn't expect. Wilder expecting there to be some good news by/before the game on Tuesday, but didn't go into any more detail. Other than that, went on about the standard stuff - happy with the recent signings, happy with changes around the ground (hotel reopening, fan zone on its way), potential captain options (he mentioned a few). Also, he said that we needed to let a lot of players go in the summer, and that he felt the rebuild we need/needed is the biggest in the division

Shackleton out 2-3 weeks max, everyone else fit and available. Should have some positive news by Tuesday. Plenty of leaders on pitch. Captain not revealed. That about it. Oh and Alan's a cunt

What's the away ticket allocation for this? Has it sold out?
I bought two tickets today and I think we're still on the original allocation of 3900? Didn't look to be many left in the only block of seats I could purchase. But there was one more block above it which I assume we don't get to "open up" until the last one is full? If it works as I think it does, I predict about 3200 Blades making the trip.

I have very mixed feelings about tomorrow’s match .

On the one hand , based on the the players we have signed and our pre season performances I am confident that we will trying to play on the front foot and now have the players to do so .

On the other , I am concerned that so far we don’t appear to have established a reliable and effective defence which is a key ingredient for any team hoping to have any level of success .

There were times in our preseason matches when , even against opposition from lower leagues with little attacking threat , we often looked extremely vulnerable and very disorganised .

I very much hope that the arrival of Gilchrist and Souttar will help to rectify this obvious weakness in our present set up.

Can only see this going one way. 1-3 Blades. Too much quality going forward against a side who have lost arguably their best player in Browne. A goal for Preston for two reasons. Not the strongest at the back yet and players will take time to get to know how each other prefer to play.

Win and you will be in the top 10. If there's enough draws which wouldn't be too much of a surprise you could well make it into the top 6.

Morning fam.

It's game day bitchessssss!

The season starts now!! 🔥🔥🔥
At last a positive COYRAWW comment. I was all pumped up then started reading above comments and felt a tad deflated. Who knows what the season will bring, situation not 100% but tell me a team that are 100% ready and happy with their squad, manager and ownership.

It’s feckin match day and we’ve got 1 point up for grabs (sorry reality kicked in) and my sphincter is in overdrive……

COYRAWW - 1st

I have a feeling we may get off to a stuttering start, (much like Wilders first tenure) until things start to gel. Draw tonight for me.

Line up will be interesting for sure, I think he will go 5 at the back personally.

Ok, I’m worried now as I’m starting to feel excited about the match. I have been here before and I know that the inevitable disappointment is probably lurking around the corner!
