Looked like a £30m player till he got in front of goal, at which point he often became a £30 player. If they can get him to start putting the ball in the back of the net from all the chances he creates for himself through his movement, skill, pace, and the rest, they'll have a bargain.

Whatever you think in terms of transfer returns, it does show the benefit of investing into the Academy. As does the plans to develop Shirecliffe to Cat 1 status and whatever you think of the hierarchy, past and present, they should be commended for that.
Our academy has made us a remarkable amount of money since 2009.

For those who read my earlier conspiracy: During a tour of the facilities, upon meeting some of the coaching staff, it was implied that Eddie Howe was the driving force behind the deal.

Pop me on ignore; tail when and truly between legs. As you were.

Was actually Jason Tindall

Chicken feed for Newcastle but money we can’t turn down. Wilder said he’d sell as he did in the past with Ramsdale (mk1) and Brooks and it’s a similar sale for me.

Good money for someone who hasn't produced.

Jebbison should have been tied down to a longer contract when ill so we could demand more money.

Lankshear was different.

All in all, we've got some dough to play with. Wouldn't want Osula back, think he's more a Slew than DCL (except Slew actually scored a few for us)

Be interested to know the bill for the new training ground, ultimately some decisions to be made but the recent sales are very unlikely to be turned into cash into the squad. Possibly 1 or 2 additions tops apart from helping the Prince out, covering the cost of the new training ground wouldn't be the worst outcome to be fair.

Chuck Lankshear into the mix and it's only £17.5m, and I disagree it's good business.

They are 3 generational talents by our standards, and only getting that for them 3 is really quite poor.
Only Osula has been a good fee.
Amazing how we can use opinions to fit our narratives isn't it? We have banked a minimum of £18.5m so far with Osula maybe taking that to well north of £20m. Osula and Lankshear then have significant (ie 25%) sell on clauses, Jebbison may have one too so we may end up with £30m+ for the three of them. As a second tier side that's about as much as we could hope for.

Indeed if they meet those clauses it’s not bad. I just feel we could’ve got more.

They are 3 incredibly talented lads.

I'm sure we could have but we dropped the ball on Jebbison (medical issues/contract) while Lankshear was offered a pro deal here but chose (unsurprisingly) to take up Spurs' offer. We've absolutely maximised Osula's current value to offset that.

Debatable. I certainly didn't see that. 3 good prospects, I'd say. "Incredibly talented" would have produced some actual results, surely?

None of them had a run in the team, and as young lads it’s very very rare to score goals consistently. Especially without a run in the team.

Lankshear obviously never got a chance.

Jebbo lost momentum from his Burton spell and was used sparingly. Some good performances some meh. To be expected from an inexperienced kid.

Osula was obviously playing a level or 2 above his current ability last season but didn’t do himself any harm.

All physical machines. Quick and powerful.

Yes, agreed. Good prospects though.

Osula, for example - 2 league goals in 44 appearances (and none in the last 30 odd). "Incredibly talented" is a huge stretch for me. Even more so with Jebbison.

Found it incredibly telling in the friendlies beginning of last season, he could not hit a barn door.

Did he even score for us once? He seemed to want to absolutely blast everything he got a sniff at goal for.

None in the leauge, a couple in the cup.

Scored 2 on loan at Derby in League One.

You have to be careful with them sell on clauses when you're selling to these financial behemoths. There's nobody in the world with more money than Newcastle if Osula turns into a great player. Zero financial pressure to sell. If he doesn't turn into a great player the sell on clause is a % of any profit he has to be sold for 10 million + to make a bean extra. I hope the club is factoring this in.

Newcastle, like anyone, will come under FFP pressure. City have just sold Álvares. It's not unfathomable that that Newcastle may need a big sale in the future.

Based on DCL and Jagielka it’s Everton we should avoid selling to!

Interview on sky this morning with Eddie however, said he knew about him from when Jason tindal was here and followed his career. Said he knows he is raw but has the ability to be a big player

Can’t see the point of doing this. We are left with Brewster(made of glass) and Moore (past it) 1 day before the season starts ffs.
