I see what you mean, but he could have dual nationality and retain his Brazilian passport as well.
Fair point!

Not sure you need the actual passport to play for that country anyway. Is that in the rules? Souza was born in Brazil so can represent Brazil whatever happens, I'd have thought.Nixon claiming that AC Milan are pushing for the deal but want Souza to switch nationality to Portugal to help with their European players quota.
Given Souza has declared numerous times that he wants to play for Brazil, I can’t imagine he would want to do that.
you know what, it’s amazing how many fans are oblivious to this and can see what his game is about in that sensepassing to players who actually want the ball and offer for it rather than panicking and/or running away from it
He can still play for Brazil if he did that. I’m sure Bellingham got a Irish passport when he signed for Madrid to help with their quota.Nixon claiming that AC Milan are pushing for the deal but want Souza to switch nationality to Portugal to help with their European players quota.

In Sweden you can apply for nationality and receive it without having to actually apply for a passport also. So if so I imagine he doesn’t actually have an Irish passport, but maybe doesHe can still play for Brazil if he did that. New ownersSounds like a plan! Just one issue - how do you address the huge drop in revenue this season? The budget will be much lower than last season's
Are you expecting Cooper 's, Worrall's and the DM's salaries combined to be lower than Souza's?
How will the loan fees and salaries be funded?
Ain’t you heard?New owners![]()
Yes I believe that is the case for most country’s but that person has to live in the country then after a certain amount of time can apply for citizenship, same here in the UK which is 5 years I think. But when it comes to footballers they have to have the passport of the country they are claiming citizenship for and I’m sure I read Bellingham had applied for an Irish one to bend the EU players rule.In Sweden you can apply for nationality and receive it without having to actually apply for a passport also. I think we should hold out for a minimum of £25m. If nobody’s prepared to pay that then we should build our team around him for the next few years. No one in their right minds

Journalist claims Milan are working on deal for €35m-rated Sheffield United star
AC Milan are advancing in talks over a deal to sign Sheffield United midfielder Vini Souza, according to a report from a journalist in England.sempremilan.com
No way Milan will pay a decent fee for himWhilst getting this cunt off the books for treble what we paid for him represents our best ever bit of transfer business and I’ll be able to enjoy next season without watching his impression of an air traffic controller as his man runs through on goal and scores yet again…….
It does make me feel really old that the mighty AC Milan (and Serie A in general) I remember from Sundays watching Football Italia have sunk so low they are prepared to give Souza a game.
Yeah European clubs rarely pay the vastly inflated UK transfer fees. I suspect we’ll end up with £20 million max. Which would still be a good deal to get him off our books. No way Milan will pay a decent fee for him
