Yeah if he looses that we will be in big trooooouble , we might gooo dooooooooooooooown toooooooo nooooooooon league oooooor sooooomething

Because its pointless. People entrenched in an opinion after 7 games?
I don't know if Weir is the right appointment, but I think we need to be having this conversation considerably later in the season than September.

I agree, it's too early. It was a poor result today and regardless of which side of the fence you're on, he needs to be picking up some points soon because getting into a losing habit is dangerous. Our current lack of goal scoring ability is highlighted by the fact that we couldn't breach the most porous defence in the division.

I'm still of the opinion that we lack quality in the squad and that certain individuals just aren't up to it. I can't bring myself to place all of the blame on DW so early on but despite being a work in progress, the word PROGRESS needs to be the operative part of that phrase. It's worrying at the moment but I would give it at least another month before pressing the panic button.

I thought it was a good appointment at the time as did plenty of others particularly given the alternatives. Sometimes you need to trust your judgement and have the courage of your convictions.

We lose nothing by keeping him in the role until at least the new year.

Except being so far adrift that avoiding relegation becomes very difficult.

Completely agree. The club appointed him to change the culture and ethos on the pitch with a view to long term success. They need to stick to their guns and give it sufficient time.

Yep, I'm prepared to believe that we're holding off on signings until the 93 day rule wont end before permanent signings could be made (in Jan) . I think about 3 more matches will pass, then I expect significant progress off the field.

IF he doesn't deliver then we shoud sack him. It may be that lack of signings weren't down to him, but we've seen enough evidence that he can't work with what he's got, and at that point relegation would be a distinct possibility.

So, though I wouldn't be arsed to wake up tomorrow and find out he'd been sacked, I'd give him 1 more month.

I don't see that being a likely position. Plenty of comments on here saying we've been shitter than shit and yet we aren't in the relegation zone yet (probably will be after the next game granted). I can't see us being set adrift in that timeframe, especially after the 93 day loan period allows the much needed replacements to be brought in.

I don't fully agree with this bit. What' he's trying to do doesn't seem like a massive cultural shift from what Wilson was doing. We've had 2 years previous of apologising for a decade of hoof. We can get over it a little bit now, and expect more, more quickly from the current boss.

Wilsons last full season was shite, and couldn't be classed as trying to play good football.

Worryingly he's just signed 2 players that were roundly applauded with zero effect on performance or results, as yet.

I think that's a fairly reasonable post. I would certainly expect some sort of improvement in results over the next month.

I think he's made a couple of really good signings in Baxter and Cuvelier but we need more to help them. We have some poor players in our squad and even some getting regular games are proving they aren't up to it. Weir can't put eleven decent players on the pitch of he doesn't have them but one way or another he has to find a solution.

It was like it is now. Asking players to play something they weren't capable of, getting pressed after fannying about at the back, and hoofing our way out of pressure. The difference is that now we don't release the pressure, and are even worse for it.

It's not realistic that Wilson changed a lifetime's ethos. Passing football that goes nowhere is equally as shite as ineffective hoof. This year is as boring as I've ever witnessed.

Having watched them in the past they are both good players. If the coaching staff can't get good performances out of those two then that is genuinely worrying. They're two of the best players at this level.

I don't agree, Wilson's toys came out the pram when we lost players over the summer. He changed his style to a more direct ethos regularly bypassing central midfield.

Perhaps, but if so you've answered your own issue. More or less the same team is at the opposite end of the table. How bad is that?

There is no need for revolution. It's proving counter productive, and evolution would at lest have allowed someone time to gradually implement their policy.

Agreed 5 good players in Brandy, Mcginn ,Coady ,Cuvelier and Baxter but whats the point in buying players who can take players on and make killer passes and then restrict them to making 5 yard sideway balls ?

Or perhaps it magifies the lunacy of sacking Wilson?

If you employed a cleaner one day a week and he/she left your house a shit heap after her first seven visits, would you think it the wrong time to sack them?

The ever so slight difference is that there wouldn't be an opponent trying to make mess as the cleaner was trying to do their job.

Presumably we're seeing the movement from the front man but these players not optioning to play that killer pass because it would be against the managers wishes?

OR

Is the movement not there, therefore there is no other option.

Because he opts to play a young kid on his own up front who has never scored a goal. Bad management.

maybe, or a desperate throw of the dice given the awful lack of options.

We'll be in it tomorrow - guaranteed.

By keeping a failing manager shows weak leadership, just because we have chopped and changed doesn't mean we should keep a shit manager who appears to have lost the dressing room already
