Flares in a british crowd just look shit
Flares in a british crowd just look shit
I remember near the end of the Blades v Liverpool League Cup game in August 1978, a Liverpool fan threw a smokebomb from the Lane End onto the Blades penalty box and a lot of smoke was coming out, our keeper Steve Conroy was screaming at the ref to stop the game and I think he was rather scared but Andy Keeley picked it up calmly and chucked it in the perimeter. I think Conroy (I was the same) was surprised that activated smokebombs are not dangerous to pick up
How times have changed.

If your on about the 1-3 win I don't think we had them at that game cos it was pissing it down, I recall them in the 1-1 draw when Deano scored first and they equalised through warhurst??Looked pretty damn good back in 1991 when we were beating the truffle hunters at the sty!

No that was at the lane in 2003. I think they launched two, one landed on the BL roof the other amongst their fans. Considering it was such a big game I'm surprised that they managed to get the flare and also to launching (gun?)'into the ground. Was that the game with the 'rocket/flare incident'? I know it was against the Pigs but can't remember which game.
