23 players gave my confidence for this season. 1 didn't. Wilder has got some talent in his squad. Upto the ownership to help him build the squad into a promotion winning squad. Great start to preseason.

Osula was great, good workout for the new signings. Youngsters were brill. Dont think we will have an issue going forward plenty of different attacking options.
OHare looks like signing of the season and its not started yet. Nice to see the team playing as a team looking to help each other.

Lets hope owners come up with a bit of a wad so we can buy a decent keeper.

Not sure we can suggest we will be ok next season based in that one pre season game.
I still do t expect half those kids to be anywhere near the squad, if they are we might be nearer the bottom than the top.

You need a strong squad to cover for injuries, suspensions etc, those kids are learning and need to be given little pockets of game time in the right circumstances given the expectations of the club. Not starting and taking leading roles.

Some great performances by the some of the youngsters. Brooks and Seriki were outstanding down the rhs. Looks like they have a great understanding.

Moore showed some great touches and will lead the line well.

Brewster looked ready hospitalise someone.

Beer was good.

Weather was decent.

Great afternoon all round.

O’Hare is some player too. Made a difference instantly.

Who was the player with the one two with O’Hare in the build up?

Was it Dozzel?

What happened to Osula and Arblaster?
Osula got smacked with a thunderbolt of a shot from one of our players!! Just before h/t.

Alblaster was knobbled by a couple of hefty challenges and was limping off slightly… think just a precaution.

Why do players go in like that, supposed to be a friendly?

We played well today, although it means nothing, noticeable we tired after 50-60mind but players still need to gain fitness.

Next week we have to see players arriving.

A goal and goal creation contribution for Dozzell isn’t to be ignored

451980407_900096002139116_4966284036261663441_n.jpg just enjoy a good win over decent opponents who took out some big clubs in the cups on their return to ther league
and we scored 1 more than last season
The youngsters were confident and calm on the ball , something we got horribly wrong last season,

Some may not have noticed we actually passed more balls to our own players today , another of last seasons problems
in fact some of the inter changes were a joy

An enjoyable afternoon. We were a lot better than them, though whether we have a championship standard side remains to be seen (and God knows if anyone else is coming in).

Brief comments:

Neither Davies or Grbic had much to do. I think the Spireites had only one attempt on target that Davies saved. Both were poor with their feet.

McCallum looks ok and has a nice Afro.

In the first 5 mins Trusty was turned and also let a long ball go over his head. He was shaky. He worries me.

The lad whose name I can’t spell did well at the back.

Brooks and Seriki did well and were positive throughout.

Arblaster showed some nice touches but got some rough treatment. Peck was lively and not afraid to try things. Marsh was anonymous.

Moore holds the ball up better than McBurnie. I thought Osula was too wide but he looked good until he took the ball in the face and scored a decent goal.

O’Hare didn’t have much of the ball but looked a class act when he did. Great run and through ball for Hampson, who took his goal well.

Brewster got into good positions but his inability to hit the target was evident again. One went wide when he came in and I didn’t think that was his position. Dozzell scored a good strike and also showed some nice touches.

Nice ground and a good Blades following.
