Is it time for a New Kit Thread?

It’s not really about that though, at least not for me. It’s all about the team I support wearing a kit I like. Personally I stopped wearing the shirt years ago. The last one I wore was the one given to season ticket holders, the black one with the name of every past player woven into it. That was the kind of shirt which wasn’t too bad to wear out in the pub beeer garden on a nice day 😊

I can’t get too excited about it really. Vast majority of them are “meh” with the odd decent & crap one.

You'd still have a majority of fans who didn't vote for the kit with the most of votes. First past the post often leaves a majority of voters losing out

True but at least the fans get to have a say and gives them some involvement.
I think we all accept you can’t please everyone. The winning kit wasn’t the one I voted for but that’s how it goes

I believe it’s certainly a better alternative to not having a say at all and leaving it to a bunch of suits in the top office

Years ago they put 6 kits on the website and asked blades members to vote their fav. Majority ruled

I didn’t think that was too bad an idea and gave the fans a say

After all, they want fans to buy the fker
They should 100% do this again, even if just for the fun of it.

Anyone able to do a mockup of a 2024/25 version of the pin stripe kit?

just seen the pinstripe video & my guess is that if they went down early 90s retro for the away shirt & id guess they would do similar for the home

It's not pinstripes per se that annoy me, but the fimbriated stripes that many of our supporters seem to think is a unique identifier for us, it isn't.
I'm 53 years old, been around the block a few times and studied for a Masters degree. Fimbriated is a new one on me; cheers SouthEssexBlade every day is a school day.

Saying I studied rather than read for a Masters was a deliberate choice of word; maybe that explains my discombobulation.

Narrow stripes make the shirt look pink from a distance. Give me thick, black-fimbriated red and white stripes. Not because it’s a unique identifier, but because it looks sharp as fook. 👌

It's a heraldry term. So, for instance the flag of Trinidad has a red field with a black sash fimbriated in white.

Ha. I just assumed fambriated was a typo. Didn’t think it was a real word.

That’s just a typo though isn’t it?

I'm not a fan of the Batman movie shirt. That's not an SUFC shirt, IMO. I also see thru the cheap attempts to win fans over with a bit of nostalgia when, the club has been shitely run, the takeover isn't there yet, and Errea have been embarrassing in manufacturing quality.
You can see it now on future years…

The kit will have discontinued stripes paying homage to the 2024/25 season when we started on negative points 🤣

If the new shirt is manufactured by Errea then don’t bother. The quality and fit is laughably shite. It has been a running joke amongst the club shop staff for a couple of years. When you walk through the door they are practically asking which replacement you would like.
