OK, SO AHEAD OF THE HOME KIT LAUNCH TOMORROW, HOW ARE WE LOOKING SO FAR?

Let's recap our checklist:

Shit manufacturing quality?
Delayed release?
Stripes on't back?
Priced too high for the quality?
Reference to being bespoke?
Reference to Steel City heritage?
Release video in an urban/industrial location? ✅
Flickering images? ✅
Toddla T/grime track? ✅

Decent start. Expect more ✅s for the home kit...

I'm not a fan of the Batman movie shirt. That's not an SUFC shirt, IMO. I also see thru the cheap attempts to win fans over with a bit of nostalgia when, the club has been shitely run, the takeover isn't there yet, and Errea have been embarrassing in manufacturing quality.

Well that’s pissed me off. Pinstripes..hated them the first time around and will hate them now. Only two shirts have ever been worse. The Cantor one with the broad red centre and the diamond one.

Who the hell signs off on these? Seriously, who makes the decision? Certainly not the fans which is what should happen.
Had flashbacks then to Barry Butlin, John Matthews and Martin Peters with the image in my head of the Cantor one

Some proper little rays of sunshine on here tonight! It’s a kit, how does it illicit such passion in you?
Any football shirt looks shit on overweight middle-aged blokes (and ladies) anyway.

lol yeah but we don’t want to also look shit on the players 😁 If it’s shit it’s shit

I’m not one got buying shirts anyway. The few I have bought have been away shirts.
Tend to go for leisure tops.

Unpopular opinion. This is one of, if not THE worst shirt ever. The diamond shirt was better. I think it's only remembered fondly for the seasons we had in it.

Exactly. I would rate it above the diamond kit though, but like I said in another thread, great memories - shit kit.

They don’t ask the fans because there is absolutely no consensus between the fans as to what the kit should be.

Round neck? Collar? V neck? Lace up?

Thick stripes? Pin stripes? Medium stripes? If so how many?

Black outline on the stripes?

Plain back? Plain sleeves? Striped back? Striped sleeves?

Too much white? Not enough white?

Black shorts? White shorts?

Black socks? White socks? Red socks?

All of the above

Years ago they put 6 kits on the website and asked blades members to vote their fav. Majority ruled

I didn’t think that was too bad an idea and gave the fans a say

After all, they want fans to buy the fker

I remember years ago they gave us a choice of 3 options to vote from. I voted for the one with a more blackcurrant stripe instead of the usual red because I thought it looked class. It didn’t win but at least we had a say. I don’t see why they couldn’t do something similar with maybe season ticket holders and membership holders having a say (to stop piggies jumping in and voting for the worst one)

You'd still have a majority of fans who didn't vote for the kit with the most of votes. First past the post often leaves a majority of voters losing out

I’m guessing the same style stripes but thicker than the original.

I remember the 97 home kit being chosen by a fan vote following on from the poorly received 96 home kit.

Problem with this approach is you’ll end up with the safest option every time and any kits that are a bit different/innovative will never get a look in.

Never liked any Version of pinstripes , the Adkins season one was metaphorically putting up the white flag and the early 90s ones always looked pink from a distance.

It's not pinstripes per se that annoy me, but the fimbriated stripes that many of our supporters seem to think is a unique identifier for us, it isn't.

I have high hopes. Probably an unpopular opinion but I don’t mind Errea*, at least they tend to be fairly original designs whereas adidas literally just used to use off the shelf templates. Milwalls home kit this year is a banger.

*will delete this comment tomorrow when ours looks like shit.

Not convinced any man over 25 should be wearing a replica shirt.
It’s not really about that though, at least not for me. It’s all about the team I support wearing a kit I like. Personally I stopped wearing the shirt years ago. The last one I wore was the one given to season ticket holders, the black one with the name of every past player woven into it. That was the kind of shirt which wasn’t too bad to wear out in the pub beeer garden on a nice day 😊
