Sure I can see Cooper’s face on there
When wilder hits a sweet spot he creates teams with so much commitment, energy and confidence that you get 11 players playing at or close to their maximum potential.
But I do think it’s feast or famine with Wilder. On balance, I think I’d be happy to move on now, build something new with a professional long-term mindset, and just cherish the memories.
But if he’s here next year I’m 100% behind him and it wouldn’t be a surprise if we massively outperformed expectations.
Btw random question but does anyone know what school he went to? Was it silverdale? Heard him talk about his schooldays but never heard him name it.
You must have been there when Maud Maxfield pupils started going to Silverdale?Yes CW went to Silverdale. As did The Baltic Blade.
The only reason for keeping him on is an imminent takeover.
I don't believe this will happen.
That being said. The only reason for bringing him back was based on the insanity of the fans and the owner.
Batshit crazy decision giving worst results in top level history.
D.REAM on on him ever being able to build anything long term.
Has turned results around eg Oxford SUFC but building?? Never
Judgement on young players is truly appalling generally.
Transfer policy appears to be buy/sign everyone and hope someone can play.
Wish Chris could have managed us to keep the score down occasionallyThe decision to bring back Wilder made full logical sense at the time.
Only people with emotional hate (acting like they'd been jilted by an ex on the wedding day) disagreed with the decision.
When appointing anyone you first, do a job spec, then try to identify people who fit that job spec.
The job spec would have been
1: Someone relatively cheap, who was willing to accept a short term contract.
2: Someone desperate enough to take a job knowing there was a 99% chance of them failing and having a relegation on their CV.
3: Someone that knows that club and can identify with our fans.
4: Someone with experience of fighting relegation battles in the PL and gaining promotion from the Championship.
5: Someone with charisma who can speak well in front of the cameras, so the fanbase remains relatively positive.
Looking at the above there's no one with those factors apart from Wilder.
The season was virtually over and we looked down already, so could argue we should have kept Hecky.
A fair amount of the fanbase wanted us to accept relegation and keep Hecky because they liked him.
Give me strength, what has liking someone got to do with it. I probably like Hecky more than Wilder
but under Hecky he was just accepting defeat and trying to keep the score down, even his post match interviews were monotone nothingness.
We hardly ventured into the opposition half and was never remotely competitive under Hecky, something had to change.
Personally I don't care too much about results but I do care about performances and these improved greatly under Wilder.
However ironically playing positive, more attacking football trying to win games made us so vulnerable to the counter attack.
Hence the big defeats under CW, altho suspect some Blades would have preferred us to park the bus packing the defence like a league 2 side
and lose every match 2-0. My concern was we needed to do something to beat Derby's record low points record.
Thought he was from Stocksbridge ? Obviously notYes CW went to Silverdale. As did The Baltic Blade.
Would have been good idea that, 2-5,0-5, 0-5, 0-6 back to back home games broke any last faith in Wilder I hadWis

What stays in a NDA stays in one, what one person does for a job where nothing has changed shows someone who is desperate for a job and has promised to accept everything the chairman says and does. Wilder is the yes man and the Prince knows why.Agree not many people have the strength of character to admit mistakes and rise above the emotion of previous fallouts.
Think it's impressive and tells you alot about both Wilder and the Prince that they can kiss and make up after a terrible fall out.
Think more people in the world should be like that and not bare grudges for ever, cutting off their nose to spite their faces.
As I remember it was reported that there was an option to terminate it this summer so watch this space!
It's an old threadHas he actually been sacked, or has some thundercunt decided to bump an old thread?
Yes, I can see that, the question still standsIt's an old thread

Fancy swapping seats next year ?"Improved greatly" not from my view on kop which TBF does have a post in it
I'm sorry but that post has become a good friendFancy swapping seats next year ?
I pay very very good money - (tbh , waiting for the Prince to stump up as my co provide the training for the front of house customer experience executives) - eventually
I know he went to Silverdale but lived on the other side of the city. Something about his dad knowing a teacher there who managed to get him a place.Thought he was from Stocksbridge ? Obviously not

Someone was asking if there was definitely an option to terminate his contract this summer, or if it was for the full 18 months.Yes, I can see that, the question still stands
Right. I can see why I have the wanker blockedSomeone was asking if there was definitely an option to terminate his contract this summer, or if it was for the full 18 months.
So you got on well with Vaughan, being a bell endI know he went to Silverdale but lived on the other side of the city. Something about his dad knowing a teacher there who managed to get him a place.
Although it's true CW and Baltic both went to Silverdale, we weren't there at the same time.
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what you mean by 'Maud Maxfield pupils'.
I suspect you may be referring to what was known as The Deaf Unit in the period I was at Silverdale.
When I started at Silverdale CW was the most 'famous' alumni I think. I was there at the same time ad Michael Vaughan. It won't surprise anyone to learn that Vaughan was a massive![]()

In the late 1970s a few Maud Maxfield started having lessons at Silverdale in a pilot scheme. Then it was in 1982 when the LEA decided to close Maud Maxfield and the pupils moved to Silverdale. I was a Maud Maxfield pupil from 1965 until 1973 when I started at a boarding school near NewburyI know he went to Silverdale but lived on the other side of the city. I enjoyed the culture last time out under wilder in the championship, the winning, the playing exciting football, the no bullshit excuses, the players who would have died for the shirt. I'd like to give him a fair crack at repeating that. The cultural shift we tried under jokanovic had me worried, dont get me wrong il think long term we need to move away from the bladey type appointments but where we find ourselves at the moment I think wilder and knill are the best chance at stabilising us and have a decent go next season.Agree, but after the chest beating subsides, I can’t get past hard facts which are we didn’t improve H2 when he came in, in fact felt like we took more beatings?
He also brought in Grbic and Holgate (BBD for balance)
His record since 20/21 is
us - walked before relegation confirmed
Boro in relegation zone - sacked
Watford - didn’t improve, contract not renewed
Us - didn’t improve, still here
Nothing against him, just think we need a cultural reset top to bottom
New owners, new manager bringing in new players
TouchéSilverdale certainly seems to produce them.

That's the problem with blocking someone, you miss some of the argument. I don't have anyone blocked, even Fallowfield (I know he's gone) and steggy.Right. I can see why I have the wanker blocked
