Look at this season.

Larouci - poor signing
Thomas - poor signing
McAtee - poor overall but for a one month hot streak
Grbic - poor signing
Souza - poor signing
Slimane - poor signing
Traore - poor signing
Holgate - 50/50
Brereton-Diaz - good signing

That's 9 players brought in this season and only Brereton-Diaz has been consistently good. The rest have been poor on the whole.
Trusty- poor signing
Hamer- good signing

McBurnie offered a reduced deal.
Offer him a decent pay as you play with a decent goal bonus.

Personally I'm not that bothered if he goes. His record over five seasons is poor and he's never been a reliable goal scorer. My only worry is that he's the best we've got, despite being average at best. If he leaves then we need a significant signing coming in, whether that be on loan or permanent.

So we have offered Mcburnie massively reduced terms.

Presumably just the standard relegation tax coupled with the timing of his contract renewal and in reflection of his availability %. Nothing to see here.

The thing is, if he can stay fit and get a run of games, he will score at Championship level. If…

At the moment he’s kind of been offering us reduced minutes as well.

How many has he missed?

He’s made the starting XI 41% of the time this season.

He did well in the promotion season but the season before that he started just 9 matches.

It’s really a toss of a coin what you’ll get. Same with RND. To a lesser extent Egan and Osborn who have both missed a fair few the last two years.

Season could easily lose any momentum with the wrong injuries hitting us.

I am very happy over the decisions Wilder has made so far. Although it hurts to see them go, it is time for the big three to move on (Norwood, Furious and Bash). Wilder is also right to let Lowe go, as the kid is very injury prone. No probs with Wes, solid keeper at best and there are way better out there.

On McBurnie, I want him to stay as he is a beast at Championship level. But his injury record is poor and if he goes, then the benefit is that we can bring someone in who will play 40 odd games rather than 15.

Because we're closer to 20% of signings being good over the last five seasons, if that, let alone 50%.

Our recruitment has been woeful and very costly as all but Ndiaye and Ramsdale have left for significant losses.

Freeman - £6mil (released for a loss)
Berge - £22mil (sold at a loss)
Robinson - £8mil (swapped for Burke who was released for a loss)
Mousset - £10mil (released for a loss)

That's just for starters.

The club has harped on about signing young and upcoming players who we can sell on for profit, and yet it fails to do this. Our recruitment is awful and the fact that we're letting Wilder in charge again backed up by his mate fills me with dread.
Poor by PL standards, but we were never going to compete at that level this season.
I think many of these signings would be ok to good in the Championship.

Sorry, I knew I was missing someone.

Hands down this has to be our worst season for crap signings.
Not necessarily. Let’s see who remains for next season and how they perform at a level cognisant with their abilities.

Would love to know what Wes did/said that has upset Wilder so much?

Seems a no brainer to bring him back just in case we can't find a replacement who's better. We know he can play GK for a promotion winning side...
Should have kept his trap shut instead of publicly stating that he was his No1 before he had pulled a shirt on.

Our successful Championship season was basically down to:

Ndiaye - No longer with us
Berge - No longer with us
Sharp - No longer with us
Anel - Won't be with us
Baldock - Won't be with us
Basham - Won't be with us
McAtee - Not our player won't be with us
Doyle - Wasn't our player and no longer with us

Those that can come out of this nightmare season with an ounce of credit

Hamer - Won't be with us
BBD - Not our player, won't be with us
Arblaster - Doubtful he'll be with us
Robinson - Probably will be with us, fits in with us perfectly due to limited ability but tries hard and unlikely to get another offer.

Players that might be ok in the Championship

McBurnie - Won't be with us
Souza - Won't be with us
Osborn - Still be with us, see Robinson above.
Jebbison - Won't be with us
Bogle - Won't be with us
Archer - Won't be with us
Brooks - Still be with us, but a bit of a risk.
Brewster - Probably still with us, needs to do well to get a decent move in January when we'll let him go for peanuts rather than offer a new contract.

Not included Larouchi, Trusty, Traore, Norwood and a few others because I don't think they'll be good enough even in the Championship.

So, that's some rebuild required.

Billy scored 2 goals last season. 😃
You can’t possibly know that all those players won’t be with us next season. Who do you think you are? Alan Nixon?

Knew somebody would say that, forgetting all about Sharps influence with the players.

And all those "Won't be with us" players
We'll see.

I'm unsure on a new deal for Ozzy. Injured again, don't know how bad?

He's in the group of players wilder wanted to move away from. Injured at least 2-3 times a season.
Nha, he's had an extension triggered I believe.

'“There are some options [on contracts] to be exercised. I talked about Ben Osborn’s option that we will exercise and there’s a couple of others that we’re in the process of doing.”'

Mousset was a woeful signing? Berge?

Taking signings from this season and judging them to be poor business is flawed. Had we signed Anel this season for £3mill he'd have looked a poor signing, whereas he's actually very good business at that price. Everyone has looked poor this season because as a team we are shit and completely out of our depth.

With the money we had to spend, who's to say we could've signed better players than Thomas, Larouci and Traore? With our insufficient budget for this level, how many signings should be competent PL players for a team with decent recruitment in your opinion, 50%?

We are back in a physical league whereby 2 games a week is commonplace. Decent guy but small, limited and unreliable….get rid and now.

Brilliant business, another player we won't see for most of the season so that's him and Tom Davies already for next season

Agree 100% with this.

However it is quite worrying.
