I've just seen something on Twitter saying that Kitson has been released, and that he was told by letter. I don't know how true it is.

Has anyone else heard this?

I assumed he would be going anyway, but surely telling somebody they won't be getting a new contract offer is better done in person.

If he lives a long way away, then it's fairly pointless dragging him all the way up to send him all the way back so it were. If only there was some sort of magic talking machine ...

Apparently he is so upset again that football people behind the scenes were losing their jobs again they were unable to get hold of him.

In my view it depends on a few things.
1. How shit they are .
2 . Wether you'd want to lamp the fooker for being shite, and not trying .
If not any of the first two, in person would be better. ;)

Considering we hired him because he's a friend of a board member, I'd imagine that he'd be spoken to first, rather just than a letter written.

I'd also imagine there's best practice and common sense also applied that these things do need to be done in writing. I saw the same happened to Weaver at Wednesday last week, we're not unusual in this respect.

I think the formal way to end a contract is always by letter.

Plus the secret footballer never settled in Sheffield and I think he's still banned from driving or at least he doesn't drive, tony McMahon drives him around in Kitson's car!

We are assuming he wasn't told in person and was just sent a letter telling him.

I'd imagine he was told in verbally, and then everything was confirmed by writing.

If that letter is genuine they desperately need someone to come in and act as proof reader. Ye gods. And who starts an official letter "Dear David"?

A letter? Why didn't Simon McCabe tell him over the garden fence, or ask his Mrs to tell Kitsons Mrs at the school gates?

This is just another example of the frivolous extravagance that has lead to this club finding itself in a financial wasteland.

Was always going to be finished at the end of last season. I know people slated him at the end of the season when he faded out, but i liked that ginger bastard. Our leading scorer still showed bits of class. Frustrating constantly trying to win fouls though.

"Give him a second series you swine"

"Yeah, give me a second series you shit!"

Well I didn't particularly like him. He scored a few for us and did quite well, but whether he's doing it for you or against you, he's still a niggly, cheating, dishonest twat of a player. Sounds a right nice bloke in his interviews though!

Right Broomhill,I remember when he signed on he said it was short term but if at Christmas it looked like the Blades were in a position for promotion he would extend to the end of the season.

Even when the letter is almost certainly between well acquainted people?

Anyway. Thanks David for what you did up to February. Best not mention the rest.

there is a thing called a phone

He's said before he wants to go to America
This is what he said "It wouldn't have sat comfortably with me to leave a job half done after integrating myself into a great squad... I still would like to go to America but we will revisit that at a later date because the aim is to have a good crack at winning promotion here."

Thank god he`s gone, waste of space and a dirty nasty toad too.

im amazed we can afford the postage. we should have waited til he phoned up to ask if he still played for us, save 35p or whatever it is these days.

Kitson to quit sheffield united and join toronto fc according to daily star, I'm pretty sure thats in canada.

Understandable decision.

Of course, this reduces the number of players on our books who are likely to manage more than 5 goals next season to zero.
