Won’t be coming here for 2 reasons.

1- He didn’t want to be here when we were at the peak of excitement off the back of a good season. He will fancy it even less now!
2- Coming back will mean he admits he’s made a huge error, and will be giving up and turning his back on his hometown club.
3- Their president is for want of better words…a treacherous, underhand snake. We will be the last club he’d want him to go to even if he wanted to as it will make him look an even bigger mug!

Shame for him, he’s basically stumped his own development and put himself back years when he looked likely to take off and be one of the stars in the premier league! He could have been months away from a move to a genuine big hitter in European football!!
But he’s made his bed, and without a grovelling apology and acknowledgement of his error with a plea to take him back he can rot there for me.
He cared not one jot for the club that made him in the end, and the feeling is therefore reciprocated

Whilst I largely agree with your post, I would still take him back in a heartbeat.

He has indeed made his bed, and probably does regret it now. So if he really wanted to come, and they let him, I would be happy for him to do his apologising on the pitch.

They are not his hometown club, he’s from a town about 500 miles away from Marseille. Think they are his club because they were the first football top he got as a kid, something like that. But agreed it will be hard for him to admit he has made a mistake and leave them.

He wouldn't get in our rejuvenated team. Who's wilder gonna drop, McAtee? Hamer? Archer?

I really feel for him but he made the decision. Maybe he's not good enough for the top flight anyway.

Drop foderingham and play without a keeper. That could have been an option against Chelsea, but arguably our best defender of the season is suspended.

He was under real pressure this summer and in the end followed his heart a dream he probably had since a boy..
OK it caused us problems ! I would still take him back in a heart beat the most exciting player since TC.
We all make mistakes maybe he's made one !Well loved by us ! Which doesn't seem the case in France.
A loan ? possible!.

Am I missing something.

Ndayie has played in 13 of the 15 league 1 games for Marseille with 2 goals, making him 4th top scorer in the squad.

They sit 4 points off a champions league place with over half the season to go.

Press reports indicate he's on a 5 year £60,000 a week contract.

Just explain one more time how he's fucked his career up again.🤷‍♂️

He has indeed made his bed. He’s living in the south of France with a contract worth around £15m and he doesn’t have to contemplate winter mornings at Shirecliffe.

It’s surprising how many professionals regard football as not much more than a job and, for all the badge kissing, are nowhere near as obsessed as the fans. He might well be feeling that he’s won at life.

He's stepped up a level (Marseille would compete in mid table in the PL, like it or not), gets to live in France, earns a good wage, plays in Europe, plays in front of huge crowds etc.

But apart from that. It's 20 games in a new system where he's playing a different role. He has to learn to be much more efficient in possession because he gets less of the ball. He'll master it because he's a ridiculously good footballer but he's not even played 100 total league games yet. To suggest he's somehow fucked his career already is silly

Hes not started them all and hes played stuck out on the wing not involved like he was for us

Not a great return

With their squad they should be challenging PSG

He was offered more at BDTBL money was not an issue

Just explain one more time how he's fucked his career up again.🤷‍♂️

Hes parked out on the wing in a league what nobody watches whilst he could have been playing every game involved in everything we do in the most watched league in the world

Probably right Carlton! He would need time to adjust to a new club.
He won't be happy playing a supporting roll if that is the way forward. He was the star man a roll he maynot have now.
We can live in hope !!.

Fair points, but by all accounts he is getting worse. So mastering it seems to be a long way off at the moment.

Playing in his correct position Mcatee could become more important/influential for us this season than Ndiaye.

20 games. Not always starting. A dysfunctional set of characters etc

You saw him play, you saw his will to succeed. He'll be the best player they've got this time next season. And he still won't have played 150 league games

Does every other club assume their old favourites are coming back as much as United fans do?
Does every other club assume that their old favourites are better than they actually are ?

He raised his ceiling last year, and he hasn’t improved. Yes, he’s at a better team, playing in Europe. But if he’d stayed with us, he’d have been snapped up after one season, he was that good. Top 4 should be his calling, winning trophies.

I’m not exaggerating, the lad we had last year was that good, i’d be bitterly disappointed if he wasn’t winning trophies regularly and being on the cover of Fifa games etc.

I have my doubts he would hit the heights he did if he came back under wilder, Hecky nursed him and brought him on dont think wilder would have the same input, but just opinions.

It's certainly not a given and Wilder largely ignored him before. But he would still be at least as good as, if not much better than any one else currently on offer.

Wish he had stayed but in reality was always going to move.

I wish him all the best for the memories he made with us and not even sure it would be a good move on either part for him to return on loan. he would always be leaving again and I would rather we brought through a new youngster than we invested time and energy into someone elses player.

Bit like McAtee, I think he is amazing and love having him playing, however the moment we get someone to replace him, we should as he isn't actually our player and (unless there is a chance we can actually buy him, which I don't think is the case.)

I think sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.....

There was never any guarantee that Illiman would have stepped up to Premier League level, (in fact his performances in the farmers league suggest not although granted, he is not being utilised how we would have used him) and if he had stayed, chances are we probably wouldn't have re-signed McAtee who is getting better by the game.

For illiman also read Tommy Doyle, excelled with us last season but is struggling to even get off the bench in a mediocre Wolves side.

Reality is we will never know!

Hmm. OK. That seems a very negative take on what is happening. My best guess is that he's not losing much sleep over it.
