Ndiaye today

He's destined for a career at the very top if he remains injury free, of that I have no doubt.

If I could wish for one thing it's that he goes straight there from us, so we pick up a fee that really helps us consolidate and develop as a club. It'd be a real shame if he went to a middling Premier League club for a couple of years who triple their money on him by selling him on for an enormous fee.

There can be endless debate about whether or not he's the most skilful Blade in living memory.
But what's beyond doubt is that his attitude on the pitch is top drawer.
So brave , gets kicked all over but never lets it bother him.
So tenacious , if he loses possession , whether by getting tackled or misdirecting a pass , he never gives up , he goes and wins the ball back.
What an example he sets.

Extremely grateful to watch him each week in a Blades shirt, hope he see’s his contract out next season and keeps us up and goes to a top club because I think he could play for any team in the world, he’s that good. I can’t even think of a player in English football that is like him? So unique, and has the work rate to match, what a dream it would be as a manager having an asset like him.

I've been thinking about the Preston game and what their fans were saying about them being flat track bullies against poor sides but lose to good ones.

I think it's easy to estimate the difference Illy has made to us this season. Having a player who can make something happen is huge at this level. So many games we would have otherwise lost or drawn we won thanks to a bit of individual skill or magic. Often from him and to a lesser extent McAtee.

I reckon if he'd been injured half the season then we'd be going into Monday's game needing a win to get in the playoffs.

We need to be careful in assuming that his standard in comparison to Championship clubs will translate into the PL.
Whilst it is only one match, MC had little difficulty in containing him and apart from the goal I don’t recall a poor Spurs side having too many problems.
I hope for our sake and his that he progresses well next season, but I would not like to see some on this forum being critical next season if he fails to reach the very high expectations some are giving him.
He has the potential if supported by one or two other creative players to help us stay up next season. If after that he moves on having advanced his career I will wish him well.

The control and then nutmeg he did in the first half last night was exceptional. We will not see a player like him at the club for many years if and when he moves on.

You just have to look at MGW (and I think he's a year ahead in his development than Ndiaye) to see how difficult the step up is.

He didn't cause Man City or England any problems. If we rely on him too much teams will just mark him out of the game.

He does it so often. Every time he does it I shake my head in disbelief. He really is a special, clever player. Please Ili, just one more season with us.

At the moment he's probably got the status of 'brilliant young player we were lucky to have for a short time'. If he gives us one more season then he qualifies for club legend, two more seasons and we'll have to commission Tingo Sculptures and Statues Incorporated.

Not putting expectations on him because as you said he’s only played in the championship, but he’s one of the best championship players I’ve seen since I've been watching football. I get your point about Man City and spurs, but apart from from the top 6 and your odd Fulham Brighton and Brentford that you get every season, there’s also some average and poor sides in the Prem that I think he will perform like he did this season against them. Again not putting expectations on him I just think he’s got everything to keep stepping up season by season, and after a full year in the Prem I think he’ll go onto big things. I also think Ndiaye this year is better than MGW last season IMO

nidaye is the only premier league class striker weve got make no mistake about that mcburnie brewster sharp and jebbison all championship strikers at best somehow we have to bring some quality in at the top end of the pitch but can only see that happening if we get a new owner

yes ,we have to do everything possible to keep illiman ,we will never be able to afford to buy a player of his quality unless we are lucky , Berge should be easier to replace if we need to raise some funds for new players

I just like the way is surrounded by players and it almost as he plays one twos off their legs to keep possession and then come out with the ball. A couple of those moves in the first half last night were sublime. He just loves playing and football and despite being fouled constantly he doesn't seem to bother. Years ago, Warnock would have sent someone like Michael Brown out to get him early doors and slow him down.
Old Neil really pulled a trick on us last night. Gave us the impression of keeping it tight and then hit us staright away with a complete change of tactics and we couldn't cope. Of course we should have been two up at ht. I know Jebbo is still young but what on earth was he doing with that header! However once he and Ndaiye went off we were sunk. No pace up front and midfield dominated totally. Even when we had the ball it seemed like a hot potato and ball control was shocking.

Sub again for Marseille tonight, and they didn't have a single shot on target.
He's coming home in January isn't he!?

Seems to have developed his pointing skills in France. Nowt else though.

Sadly I highly doubt it but at the minute he's made a bad choice for his career progression.

Such a shame because he was a good lad, humble and for a forward player about the best presser I've seen. Throw in his skillset and he could have made the step up to the PL in our system even if we didn't.

He'd be wise to leave Marseille even on loan in Jan. Sadly it probs won't be us

Agreed. The move there was one of the worst moves I think, not even coming at it from a bitter angle but I think the combo of his ego growing due to the adoration we gave him (rightly so if you ask me) the pull of a dream club and of course a snide agent meant his decision was inevitable.

I said on pretty much every thread about whether he was staying or leaving he should stay and not simply because I wanted him here, which I did, but with us he was guaranteed a space in the starting 11 and he had a huge opportunity to show the Prem clubs what he can do and be off to something better as soon as even Jan.

I'd still have him back though on loan.
