Van Dijk's feet are planted. Anel falls over him. Never a foul.

Any thoughts on Keown's comments where he says Nunez did a "scissor challenge" and also where he thought the Konate on McAtee WAS a push?

Followed up by his praise for McAtee and Archer's performances

Planted? He takes a step back before moving forward towards the ball...

he would have had to book him thats why and it would have been a sending off, ref bottled it ....

Robbo had a cracking tackle against a newcastle player earlier in the season, ball first then follow through, he got a yellow for it.... premier league corrupt as fuck
and they scored from the free kick also if I remember correctly.

However, this one in the analysis, I agree with Keown in the "there isn't enough". Yes Van Dijk moves across him, that doesn't make Anel fall over like he does and roll around. He's tried to con the ref and failed for me:

Anel jumps over him
Clearly backs into Anel to stop him tracking his man. Whether he intentionally trips him is debatable, but this is the sort of shitcuntery that VAR was supposed to prevent. It happens all the time in the lower leagues, but referees would need ten pairs of eyes, to pick up everything.

Interesting cameo last night from Klopp at his post match interview. An intimidating, snarling, sarcastic piece of bullying if ever I saw one. Beautifully played piece of condescending savagery that had Billy Sharp looking like a quaking schoolboy, the interviewer grovelling an apology and ‘Macca’ slobbering and fawning like the scouse lickspittle he is. Klopp was rude and petulant not because of his genuine emotion but cause he is playing the bigger game of Liverpool being part of the untouchable elite clubs who transcend the rules. Basically, exquisitely talented but well heeled cheats. They could win without cheating but they will win more if they do

This is the Premiership, dominated by the elite arrogance and spending power of the top 6 clubs who constantly, cynically play the ‘badly done to’ card whilst committing daylight robbery on the pitch aided and abetted by the very people who are purportedly there to prevent it. Undoubtedly less talented teams like ours apparently are a ‘disgrace’ and ‘stink the place out’ according to the TV and radio pundits who ponce their living out of our very existence as cannon fodder for the big boys and then snigger at our inevitable demise.

Well I for one loved our performance last night. We’re shit and we know we are but at least we haven’t turned into a bunch of self entitled wankers. I dearly hope Wilder and the Blades can give a few bloody noses before we depart this league. More of the same and even a bit better please and let’s enjoy the ride :)

Outstanding posting! That is a superb description of his post match behaviour - full of his toothsome smile until something was said that he didn’t like, then the facade dropped and the real Klopp was revealed.
His general touch line “Klopperatics” are well engineered to intimidate the officials.
And Macmanaman is a disgrace - he seems to be employed as a professional Liverpool supporter rather than a pundit, not even a pretense at balance.

I’m sure I’m saying the same as everyone else but this season more than any other shows that the Premier League is too heavily weighted towards the big teams and by hook or by crook, whether it be for selling tv rights around the world or appeasing the big teams as not to allow a break away European league or lagging it up to show that the Saudi League doesn’t take over as ‘the best’ there’s a lot at stake for the PL and their cash cow has started to get lumps in its milk.

It's just brilliant that Liverpool fans (encouraged and riled up by Klopp) constantly whinge about bias against them.

The same team who probably have more fans in the media than any other team. Turn on the TV, read the newspaper or listen to the radio on any given day and you're almost guaranteed to come across a Liverpool cheerleader: Warnock, Gerrard, Carragher, Souness, Sturridge, Redknapp, Murphy, McManaman, Beglin, Owen, Crouch... we're fucking drowning in Scousers on TV but they always bleat about how everyone's against them. It's laughable.

Jack Robinson won the ball first v newcastle but his follow through was a foul apparently. Both led to goals against us.....
Lundstram won the ball vs Brighton. Didn’t stop him being red carded either.

One advantage of Wilder is that he’s also no issue being a bit spikey if needs be.

He’s not a newby who isn’t lad to be there.

Just before the start of the first clip you see Van Dijk clearly turn his head to check the situation, so definitely something planned and something they've worked on.

However, looking at this I don't understand why Robinson goes with the runner, because it looks like Van Dijk is his man? If he'd just stayed put, then Van Dijk doesn't get the acres of space he got.

That first goal wasn't a foul for me, and even if Anel had stayed up it makes no difference as both him and Robinson were following the other player, so Van Dijk finds himself unmarked either way.

Watching it last night on amazon prime. In my opinion anel was fouled and the goal should have been disallowed. Van Dijk moves to his right to block off Anel. If it was in another part of the box where the ball wasn't near then it isn't really a problem. In this case Anel is going for the ball and is taken out and the ball lands to Van Dijk to smash home. In my opinion it is a clear foul that had direct consequences.

The tackle on Bogle is harder to judge. Bogle moves to his right side as Nunez tackles. Nunes only got a bare touch on the ball and it is his trailing leg that takes out Bogle. Considering Archer got pulled up for the barest of touches of his hand when controlling the ball. I would have expected this to be called a foul too.

The overall problem is Var. The criteria is supposed to be a clear and obvious error. Which leaves it very subjective. We have seen that offsides are being called which are minimally offside. They can't be clear and obvious errors.
Regarding tackles we are getting all kinds of decisions going on. Either trying to find a foul or trying not to find one. Var should only be used for did the ball cross the goal line.

I get your point but Billy wasn’t in red and white stripes he was in the standard costume of a football pundit, I wish him well if that’s the career path he chooses and, absolutely, he would make mincemeat out of Klopp on a football pitch. My point is Klopp, Guardiola, Arteta etc are so media savvy that they can intimidate media pundits, eat them up and spit them out in whatever direction they choose. Instead of a discussion and analysis of the game with quality footballers such as Billy, we were subjected to Klopp’s latest Liverpool, calculated, whining ‘badly done to’ garbage. I’m just bloody sick of it and, reading Roy’s ‘View From’ today their so called ‘true football loving fans’ need to get back to their roots before they completely disappear up their own arses

The media still need a story from the big clubs, hence why they capitulate to them..

The other choice is the dole queue, klopp and others know this of course

It must be a trait where the most successful managers like Klopp, Ferguson and Mourinho can be complete twats in their day jobs but come across sound away from it.
