If (and a big IF) we end up at the Brent council stadium again in May, I reckon the club should go about it in a different way.

As in,

Don't visit the stadium prior to the day,
Travel down on a train the day before with a few blades fans.
Only arrive at the ground at the latest possible time.
No stupid new kit or even embroided lettering on the shirts.

The club could use a bit of gallows humour in the Merch it sells like t-shirts with "1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Time Lucky!" or "Sheffield United Tours Trip to Wembley 1993/1997/2009/2012/2013" or "We <3 the Play Offs" Just to bring a chuckle about it, We all know we're shite in big games and odds are we would lose.

Every time we get there, we give it the big day out treatment, all jester hats and face paint and it gets us nowhere. I think this year IF it happens we as a club and a set of fans just treat it as another away game or take the piss.

I reckon it might just confuse the opposition as well and put them on edge.

Just a thought.

I like this.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's anything inherent with our performances at Wembley; just each time we've coincidentally not shown up.

But I love the idea of treating it like any other game while being well aware of the shambles that foreshadows it.

I'd be amazed if we weren't singing "we're the famous Sheff United and we're shit at Wemberlee" before the game this time.

I actually suggested exactly the same thing last year. If I had the skills I would find it. The "day out at Wembley" diverts us from what we're there to achieve. Lots of people disagreed. The team and fans failed to turn up yet again.

I just had a look at the BBC highlights of the 93 semi on youtube. I was at the game but have never watched the highlights before.

Bloody hell!. Apart from the goal the sum total of our chances was a shot by Gannon just over the bar early on and another Gannon shot way over the bar late on; on the other hand Wednesday have about 10-12 very good chances, hitting the woodwork twice and Kelly pulling off 3-4 amazing saves. We could have easily lost 5-1 or 6-1.

I love it Worksop_Blade!

The thought of the team taking the train down and just arriving with the fans would be different....

But who's to say we'll even get as far as wembley this time?

Whatever happens, I'll be out here in Japan when the Play offs come up....

Although I've a sneaky little plan up my sleeve just in case. Got a vendor in derby of all places and the japanese contractor is pushing for a mid may meeting in UK...

Where I was sat it was over 40c! That's as much to blame for the fans as anything else.

I do like the idea, but when you're paying £50 for a ticket, it does somewhat dent one's sense of humour.
