Pep wouldn.t turn this into anything better.
It's totally wrong to say a manager has no effect on tactics, effort, organisation, confidence etc.
Remember how poor the team was under Nigel Adkins, then Wilder comes in and instantly our players all pass to each other, no long boot up field.
After a few games, the players are playing set pieces from the training ground with little triangles. Confidence on the ball quickly grows.
Going back further remember how we played under Dave Bassett, it was quite similar to Neil Warnock, quick direct ball stuff.
Then Howard Kendall takes over and like some miracle all of our sudden our players are so composed in possession making short passes to feet.
Accept that Hecky has a difficult job and hasn't had the best opportunity to plan, due to the last minute departures of N'Diaye and Berge.
However think about all the things a manager can influence and Hecky has been poor in most them.
Even though we were promoted last season, there was plenty of signs for concern last season too.
In most games last season, we played some nice passing football for 10 minute but also in the same match for 15 minutes we couldn't string 3 passes together. When we were leading we often ended the last 20 minutes of every match dropping deeper and deeper
and when anybody got the ball, we either booted it out in to row Z or booted it up field straight back to the opposition.
In post match interviews no mention of how we were poor at managing out games and also no practice how to keep composure and retain possession.
Hecky's tactics seemed to be.....defend in numbers and let's hope N'Daiye (and possible McAfee) come up with some magic to create or score.
