[MATCH OFF] Erm... has anyone seen the weather for Sheffield on Satdi?

If it's the early kick-off we're worried about, what's to stop us binning Sky and going for a 3 o clock start? Not seen the forecast, but if it all stops around noon it's got to be better than putting it back to Tuesday.
Tuesday? Montengro v England on TV

Bartman texted me to say the pitch is currently clear. We all know the forecast but my concern is that if we aren't called off due to snow and/or frozen pitch, then the match could be off due to waterlogging.

In Leeds we had about 4 inches then it turned to rain and now it has stopped.
you may only have 4 inches but I'm sure my wife will confirm a lot more than that ;)

I've got a feeling this might not be on. I set off for work half an hour early today just so I could give myself a good chance

Not been good in S63 this morning, a good covering all over and snow coming down since I got up at 5.30. Just had a quick look at the traffic cam on Bramall Lane Roundabout and it had not up dated since 4 am but I would think the surrounding area issue could be a big problem looking at that.

And there seems to be no end to this old weather, fixture pile up seems inevitable. Oh those football gds really don't like us.

Must have been your lonely tyre tracks I saw on out road first thing Brownie :-) like t'Antarctic up here on t'Charnock! Just a formality surely for match off verdict?

There must be nearly a foot of snow in Greystones this morning and no cars on our road since early yesterday evening. Sledging and snowmen for me!

My source says the groundsmen are miserably forking at a big puddle on the pitch...

Match off

I have found out about the match being off in this order -

1. www.s24su.com First with the news, once again.
2. Radio Sheffield. A bit after.
3. Official Sheffield United site? Nope. Fuck all on there as of 8:30. What a surprise.

Once again a site run by "amateurs" trumps the official site run by "professionals". I only use the term "amateurs" in the sense that Linz and Foxy don't get paid for this, because it's run with a higher degree of professionalism than the club's site seems to be.

If SKY have paid for the game will they be trying to force it on Sunday/Monday? Don't know how this works?

In slight defence of the club, they always say the news would be on twitter first and they sent an official tweet saying the match was off 7 minutes after s24su

They really should be first with the news though. Shouldnt they?

The key word there being after.

Beaten to the draw by two fans in onesies. Foxy has been up since half three in his United onesie, ringing round and scouring the internet for news, accompanied by only his cats, Brian and Jan-Aage, and wrapped up in his Bob Booker duvet, while Linz grafted away in the kitchen making artisan bread and nettle soup.

Or something like that.

why did we plan the Crawley game so late in the season? We could have had it several times over by now thus giving us an extra free date.
