And it sounds like Fleck is out long term, what an absolute waste of a new contract. Love Flecky but honestly should have been released end of last season.

Seriously I'd have sooner kept Arblaster in the squad than give Fleck a new deal.

CaptainMorgans is not exactly my favourite poster on here, but this post sums up the general feeling of the fan-base (and club, I suspect) at the moment. This is the actual result of the Prince's actions - all the momentum and feelgood factor has been totally sucked out of the club. We are entering the season with zero expectation and no amount of run-around, hardworking, ten-a-penny midfielders is going to replace the danger provided by Illy and Sander. We are going to be a terrible watch this season - similar to the COVID season only worse....we haven't even got the flair of Didzy to lift us. I can't think of one player who is going to cause the opposition any worries at all.

You may be right, but until we have closed the window and played a few matches with our signings I cannot sensibly come to any conclusion.
