I’ve been negative about us selling Berge, but I also think ‘fuck him’.

If he’d rather leave us when we’ve stuck by him through injuries, offered new terms & improved him as a player for a relegation rival then it is literally all about money for him and nothing else.

Clubs aren’t stupid, they knew NDiaye wanted to go to Marseille so they didn’t waste their time bidding. If he have said his options are open then more top clubs would have bidded

It might not be money but career prospects but then to Burnley seems a very odd move to me, I can't believe that joining them is a better career move for him. He could well end up in the same situation as he did with us when he joined, i.e, a Championship player wanting a move and then he's 26 this summer so no longer as desirable as he has been with us.

We paid for too much for him but he was touted as a top talent and you have to pay top money for them.

If we get anything around £15m right now I think we’ve done fairly well. NDiaye was the bitter one to swallow, this has felt inevitable for years now.

The club is not ran very well when it comes to contracts and a huge rethink has to be had. Something the Prince said on SUW was that players play better in their final contract years. Well that’s all well & good if they’re wanting to stay with you but not if their agent is touting around for other clubs.

We’re prepared to give Souza the same money that Berge allegedly wants. Seems odd to not pay Berge but throw that same amount to a player that might not be any better.
