Yep, great point. An evolution of that rotation we used to see in the CW days - when a wingback went, Norwood and the wingback from the other side would rotate in and keep us solid. Souza looks like he'd be ideal to do something similar against more the mobile teams of the PL.

Do folks genuinely believe we will go without a deep lying playmaker this season ?

That this is not the most important role on the entire pitch to get right given our cast in tablets of stone back 3 formation ?

Do folks not understand why this is so ?

It is pretty basic stuff lads and lasses and when you can actually manage to get your hids around this fact, one simple question remains.

I’m still really hoping we’ve sped things up and a midfielder or attacker drops though. But to be ready to play on Sat, it’d have to be damn quick

Given we have sold Ndiaye, there is now no excuse for fannying about with signings. Doing so is literally further damaging Hecky's chances of getting anything out of the first few games, let alone the fixtures after the window closes. If we are penny pinching over a relegation wage drop for Souza, we need to get real and accept that better players (like Souza) are not going to come on the same terms as the likes of Fleck and Bash.

Which Premier League club would sign Souza and not include a relegation wage clause? I’d be amazed if Burnley didn’t include one.

Surely it must be the percentage, which I’d like to think can be agreed with a little bit of compromise on both sides.

Souza looks class, I really want us to get him, but isn't he owned by a bag o'shit Belgium side? I know he's done well at a proper side in Espanyol but why do players that have so much potential still stay on the books of poor teams?

It’s part of the City group so they have pull of selling the dream to players that they could end up at City

Berge needs to be utilised bombing forward putting the pressure on the opposition defence.

When Berge is on the ball the opposition find it difficult to get near him.

He is completely wasted playing in a deep role every time Sander was deep it failed.

I'm fairly certain that bringing in a player is slightly more convoluted than saying to the selling club "£5 million? Done" and then to the player "30 grand a week? Done", but feel free to correct me and/or post Matt Done memes

Cos I’ll promise you it will be one of them as there is no way of shoehorning Berge in to a more advanced role IF you want a proper CDM (Sousa ?) and Anis.
