Is he out of contract next summer? Can we get him on a new deal otherwise we could be at risk of getting ourselves in the same situation again.
Yep, we're really good at getting ourselves into this situation. We should have offered Ndiaye a new contract immediately after we were beaten by Forest in the play offs. It was obvious then that he was the MGW replacement and the contract he'd signed earlier that season wouldn't have reflected his true value to the team by the end of that season.

In all honesty, probably the best thing for Jebbison, similar to Calvert-llewellin,they brought him on better than we could have done, alas.

Also bemused me. Was there a particular sticking point or reason then to not offer him a new deal?

In fairness to the club if they consider a sale, Jebbo’s value is all about promise than actual performance.

He skipped the U23s largely and had a decent half season spell at Burton.

He’s not really made much of an impact since in the subsequent 18 months. He had a good game against Hull, screwed his opportunity a bit getting a petulant red vs Wrexham and has 2 goals and an assist in 684 mins over 19 games this past season and nothing in 8 games and 192 minutes after being recalled. A goal every 4 and a bit games last year and worse if you include the prior 6 months.

If the club is thinking that they’ll always have a McBurnie or a Brewster or any other senior striker always blocking the way, maybe the club thinks they have to make a choice at some point between Jebbo and Osula.

The latter didn’t skip the U23s and absolutely nailed it scoring 3s and 4s. He had a more challenging loan but one where his team was at the top. He SEEMS more aggressive and whilst his finishing looks not quite there this pre-season, many have seen him be very clinical in the U21s (as they now are) last season.

Maybe the club just don’t think Jebbo is developing at a pace they like and fancy trading on his goal vs Everton (which most would have scored).

They have Osula, Marsh (a different type of player but also a finisher) as well as McBurnie, Brewster and Traore.m plus probably one more to come. Perhaps they see more in Traore?

I just hope we don’t give him away for a daft price. But there is an argument that he simply hasn’t come on enough the last 18 months and we’d rather run with Traore, Osula and Marsh as younger strikers.

Hope he can kick on and can stay but at some point you need to make a decision. You can’t keep them all with maximum two striker spots.

Both jebbo & osula won't cut it in the top 2 leagues, potential is one thing actually being good enough is another!

I'd tell Everton £12-15m +sell on fee and he's yours, we've too many players taking years to progress, Jebbo is one of those who so far have only shown promiss

Agree, having McBurnie & injured Brewster in the way, they're hardly Shearer & Lineker and jebbo still can't make a impression

Don’t agree with you, especially regarding Osula. I've got a feeling watching Osula, that he’s got a very bright future ahead of him, hopefully with the Blades and hopefully in the Prem.

Don't agree with you either (respectfully) bottom end championship at best, would love to be proved wrong but I just don't see what alot of others see.

Hecky has said a few times that they have to take their chances. He's referring to all the kids I suppose but it's relevant for Osula and Jebbo the most, especially if you read "chances" as physical goal scoring ones.

It's short term thinking selling your young prospects but if that money buys Doyle for instance I'd snap their hand off for £10m plus.

Yeah I think Hecky seemed a bit fucked off with Jebbo and Osula. I think he thinks they should be grasping at the chances when the likes of Brewster and McBurnie are injured.

yes i got that impression although have to say i prefer osula of the 2 i think we may well let jebbo go and it might just raise us the capital to bring lewis obrien in

Before we got Trusty in I would have told them we'd do straight swap for Branthwaite. Do they have any left sided midfielders?

Hed walk into our team.

Given at the moment, but I don’t believe the upside is that great. He’s not really done it in the premier. Would hate to burn one of our loans on him or be saddled with his wage.

Personally as we really only play one up need to find a loan to hug from abroad for the forward areas to supplement what we have and spend most of our resource in the midfield and attacking midfield areas. We need to create chances before we miss them.

Doyle and o’brien on a smaller fee which goes up if we stay up or we go down then their sell on is more.

Who would you loan to buy from abroad who is better than maupay ?

Now that I don’t know, but I just don’t think the upside is there to be lumbered with maupay. Just my opinion.
In the market we are in he seems as good an option as any I can think of
Noticed josh King is on Boros radar not sure he would be on ours though

Still only 19. Takes strikers a little time. Kane was being shunted from club to club on loan at a similar age and had been written off by some. He didn’t find his feet until he was a couple of years older than Jebbo.

Maupay would walk into the starting 11 at the moment and would contribute a lot more than Jebbo this season which looks like it'll be his last with us. Would be a good deal for us if we could swap them somehow without much/any outlay

Elephant in the room is the contract, if he won't sign then his age and potential mean nothing, can he offer us more of a positive contribution next year over alternatives we could bring in with the money? If not he has to go
