I remember having the tour of the boardroom at the 1989 open day (I have a photo with Reg Brearley to prove it!), and there being a mysterious digital display above the door. The guy giving us the tour joked that it was to show the actual attendance versus the published one. Many a true word and all that?!My first game aged 6! Sat on a barrier on the kop with my cousin.
Judging by how full the Kop looks, the official attendance of 18,481 looks dubious!

Some great Legends of the Lane there. Nightingale, a great goal-scorer and mudlark, Collindridge also a great servant to the Club and a Cup legend ( See Stoke replay ,c1946 ), Sir James, of course and a great shot of Eddie Shimwell who we let go too early, in the best Utd tradition. Ring any bells....?
