OM tying up a deal for Sarr from Watford, him on top of Aubameyang surely means they know their chances of getting Illiman are slim....

Based on nothing, I reckon Iliman dislikes Sarr (because he's lazy).OM tying up a deal for Sarr from Watford, him on top of Aubameyang surely means they know their chances of getting Illiman are slim....
I wouldn't have thought any sell on claus would be part of this negotiation, this would be negotiated between us and the purchasing club at the time. Clearly we should not allow any 'sell on claus restrictions' to be inserted. Not a bad shout at all. I would be in favor of a smaller release clause as long as that release clause also factored in say a 20% or so sell on clause.
Very unlikely but I’d say his agent has factored in him not performing next season and is why they want a lower transfer fee. No one is paying big bucks for him if he doesn’t produce and let’s be honest if he doesn’t produce he will find himself on the bench like any other player. Wouldn’t have many clubs after him if that was the case but a lower transfer fee he would likely still get the odd taker to gamble on him, i.e Marseille (even lower with relegation)Has anyone factored in the possibility that N'diaye is absolutely shite next season and not good enough to step up? Unlikely i know but just throwing it out there!![]()
Or gets a bad injury, that's why any new contract still needs the relegation wage reduction. We don't want another Brewster situationHas anyone factored in the possibility that N'diaye is absolutely shite next season and not good enough to step up? Obviously we need to negotiate on the release figure, but I'd be OK with £10m and delighted with anything more.
We can then insert a 20% sell on claus.

I don't see it like that at all. If Illy has a good season, then clubs will be queuing up to sign him at a knock down price. If they hit the minimum release clause they don't need to then have further discussions with us about adding in further sell on clauses... We have to accept the offer.
If we want a sell on clause it needs to be added on as part of the minimum fee release clause.. otherwise it wont happen at all.

As part of the negotiations with the prospective purchases, we can then negotiate a sell on percentage.
In the same way Illys agent will be negotiating signing on fee, contract length and wages.
I bow to your football contract knowledgeAgain not how minimum fee release clauses work sadly.
He's right though. Even if 100 clubs think he's worth 10 times more than the release clause there won't be a bidding war. It's completely up to the player to choose at that point. We would have zero say where he goes and get the minimum stipulated in the clause if it is is met.I bow to your football contract knowledge
He is clearly good, but as yet we don’t know if he will be a superstar when up against PL defenders. If we stay up then it will likely be because of Ndiaye + a decent defensive record.
Don't know the figures, but if that brings in 100m then whatever we can get for Ndiaye in a years time will basically be 100m + Ndiaye £x.
If we get relegated then we will get Ndiaye £x + parachute money.
We aren't mananaging a diva here in Ndiaye. You can tell his personality is everything you want in a player. We are however managing having a generational superstar on our hands.
We therefore need to negotiate accordingly and keep him happy. 10m either way is irrelevant.
He has got us promotion (achievement + £150m that brings) He will fetch a decent fee if he signs the new deal. If he keeps us up that's another £100m. If we go down then atleast we won't have wondered what it would have been like to have a superstar on our hands for 1 year in the Premier League. He is our Maradona.
What happens if the player refuses to go to any of them. I guess the release clause is then defunct ?He's right though. We don't know how good he is ,coughHe is clearly good, but as yet we don’t know if he will be a superstar when up against PL defenders.
Let’s not get carried away until we have seen him against a dozen PL teams.
We know how good he is in the Championship and know that he is a talented player. The bit that we don’t know is how good are PL defenders at nullifying him.We don't know how good he is ,cough
So after 12 games the whole world sees how good he is and then there's no chance he signs a new contract. All these hyperthetical situations are great but a club like ours doesn't have the bargaining strength of most of the PL. Most people can see this Ndiaye is one of the best players whose ever played for this club. You just get a feeling with one, very very occasionally, if ever.He is clearly good, but as yet we don’t know if he will be a superstar when up against PL defenders.

Why would anyone pay more than 10m for a player what can be bought for 10mIf he has a £10M clause, does that stop anyone bidding more? If 2 clubs want him next season for instance, surely there could be a bidding war or do we have to sell for 10?
What do you not understand about the concept of a release clause? If he has a £10M clause, does that stop anyone bidding more? If 2 clubs want him next season for instance, surely there could be a bidding war or do we have to sell for 10?
Realised that this was a daft comment! Wasn't sure if it was a minimum to start negotiations...Why would anyone pay more than 10m for a player what can be bought for 10m
He doesn’t have to leave, but we have to accept the bids at that valueWhat happens if the player refuses to go to any of them. I guess the release clause is then defunct ?
I think he's plenty good enough, my concern is his nerve. In the space of a couple years he's gone from the odd 10 minutes in a match with us to an international with a very big future. Despite his ability that's gotta be playing on his mind right now, he's got the chance to prove himself Infront of the world, gotta be a little scary.Has anyone factored in the possibility that N'diaye is absolutely shite next season and not good enough to step up? Unlikely i know but just throwing it out there!![]()
