There seems to be an interesting gap in what is believed when it comes from Darren.
If you believe his transfer updates, who were in for and what we’re willing to spend then surely you have to believe his comments that we’ll spend a similar amount to our first promotion season, £65-70m for transfers and fees and the £20 transfer fee budget rumour is nonsense.
If that’s the budget then it’s not because we can’t spend £5m but because we don’t want to go to that level for him.
If you don’t believe him then it’s all his info is for the birds.

The obvious thing about this to me is that we have £20m available now (the amount of debt bears this out) but since transfer fees tend to be spread out in installments this could easily equate to a £60m spend this window.
