Do you doubt that I can find players that have gone on to have top careers via that sort of path?

Sure some have. But at the same time there's a reason he's 'only' been picked up by the 12th best league according to uefa rankings ( and maybe lower in reality as the championship etc don't get ranked in these)

The kid played less than 400 league minutes for us. I think I watched all of them and I can honestly say I have no idea how good he is. I'd want to see a lot more of him before I came to a judgement but hats off to those who knew he was shit after watching him for about 30 seconds.

We had to let the players go that we did to enable the signings we made.

So the question is: who left that, had they stayed, would have made a bigger impact than someone we brought in?

The only player I really wish we'd kept hold of was Oli McBurnie.
I'd probably trade O'Hare for him.

Other than that, it was a fantastic window really. We're 3 or 4 light, but the business we did do (incomings & outgoings) was great.

Benie Traore might have done OK, but Tyrese Campbell on a free offers way more upside.

Not sure I agree with calling him brilliant, but he's been better since Wilder switched him to the left side and Hamer in the middle.

He's got great work ethic, particularly off the ball. Sometimes that leads to something.

I've been underwhelmed by him in possession. He has quality, we just don't see it enough.

Last season I’d have, and did, agree. This season he is smashing it and that’s to his credit.

Similar with Anel. With him he was fantastic last time in this league, out of his depth in the prem. I would love to hope that should we go back up, both will have learned enough to be better at that level.

But there is a massive gulf between prem and champ, we will see. But it is pleasing seeing him and anel doing well
