We had played crap on the Saturday and lost 0-1 to Coventry City. Then on the Monday night we beat high flying Liverpool 1-0 with a raucous atmosphere on the Kop.

Alan Warboys v Man U 30th September 1972. Len Badger playing in midfield. He got injured in the Watney Cup match at Notts County 2 months earlier, Steve Goulding took over the number 2 shirt. When Len got fit to play again, he was given the number 8 shirt to play in midfield so that Goulding carried on playing at right back. The Man U players are Steve James, Ian Storey-Moore and Willie Morgan
