Ernie Moss, John McAlle, Sir Bob Hatton and Phil Sproson. 2-0 v Port Vale? My guess anyway. Silent Blade will tell us all soon hopefully.
McAlle was Ian Porterfield's first signing.

That was the answer to a Radio Hallam quiz question that won me two tickets in the old Directors box on John Street v Huddersfield 1982 - memorable for Curran scoring twice and (personally)memorable for me losing a penalty comp at HT to a bloke who'd had about 12 pints.

12pints, steadies the nerves, giving no fear.;)

That's the first thing that came to Bert's mind as well.
yeah loads of interesting afternoons on the shoreham between 71 and 75 but apart from manure and weeds no club had any success and only survived courtesy of south yorkshire police

I wasn't at the Norwich game, would be playing myself.
But!
Who was at the 5thR game at the Lane V Arsenal?

I was at this match and it is the worst weather conditions I've ever seen a Lane game played in. Is this the Kop or Lane end goal?o_O

Which in those days meant reporters with paper and pencils. The roof doesn’t look as though it offers any protection from the elements, leading to some very soggy spiral bound note pads if the weather turned….

That game v Norwich ended as a giant killing, Div 3 Norwich got a draw at Bramall Lane and won the replay 3-2.

Terry Bly was playing for Norwich and 2 seasons later, he scored 54 goals for Peterborough United in their first league season, a post war record that Erling Haaland didn’t quite beat, albeit at a considerably higher level.

I was there too and also at the original tie at Highbury .

Both are high on my list of favourite Blades watching experiences despite the quite appalling conditions for the replay , as you say .
