On the o/s Wilson has just come out with another gem!
'The lads that came in did well so there is nothing to worry about'
Both Westlake and Williams were very poor - I would say there's alot to worry about!
Obviously, trying to boost their confidence but he'd be better keeping his mouth shut!

i was waiting for the 'yeah but we're unbeaten' guff but i guess that one has timed out for now.. now we'll hear the second on the league.. third in the league.. seventh in the league... fourth from bottom.. argument..

Seriously?

Wilson has no transfer budget and has lost four of his best players who he cant replace with anybody of any quality.
We have to accept we were never going to be as good as we were last year.

As per usual Alco - you have obviously not read the article, didn't go to the match and come out with your usual inane ramblings! - nothing about manager praising team but stating that we have nothing to worry about with Westlake and Williams - on Saturdays performance we will have much to worry about - they were both dire!

Our back four (whilst McMahon is not the best overlapping fullback) are the reason we are in second - we have just lost both fullbacks in the same match - possibly for a while!

On Saturdays performance we won't remain second for much longer - but I suppose you know much more than any other supporter and you must be right!!

That is truly a frightening statement.
However, the point you make is misdirected. Many do understand that the squad is not as good as it was last year. That's why we understand we're in trouble this year. Perversely, some people like to use it as an example that everything is great or that we should be happy. Apparently we should be delighted that we're not as good as last year, when we missed out on promotion.
 
What Wilson should do is what every other manager does heard fergie,wenger et-al say it all the time castigating there players in public for playing shit oh no wait they keep it in house tell there players in the changing room what's going on and wrong as there's nothing like giving the oppo the chance to get under our players skin with disharmonoy not saying our players don't deserve a bollockin but not in public were our fans would know which player the manager was having a go at and destroy there confidence even further by booing em. Ched came on leaps and bounds as did collins by puttin an arm around em and tellin em how good they were cause let's not forget everyone on here and on other site's were sayin collins could'nt kick snow off a rope 3seasons ago.Keep the hair dryer treatment private and the building up of players confidence public. IE Porter now,U.T.B
 
I still think we are going to win the league. A view we should all share.

True, we are not, perhaps on paper as good as last year, but who have we got to beat? There do not appear to be any teams like Charlton or Huddersfield about this year. Tranmere will run out of steam - mark my words a few injuries / suspensions etc will do them in.

We are better than the rest and I fully expect the table to show that come May.

The league isn't as good which is good for us because we're nowhere near as good which I think most sensible Blades have learned to accept this. IF and it's a big IF we go up I think we'll be in a much better place wage bill wise to build a squad capable of competing in the Championship.

My problem, whilst we haven't lost it disguised a lot of what some people are saying but in completely the wrong way. The big issue for me is that we've scored 1 goal from open play in 6 league games, this simply isn't good enough for promotion.

Yes we won't be as good this year, yes it won't be as exciting but we desperately need some creativity in the team ASAP as it isn't coming from any of the 6 strikers we have.
 
At times last season we totally outplayed teams, won games easily and were scoring for fun. This season, just about every game could have gone either way. Obviously I'm pleased we are 2nd - and the result is always the most important thing for me - but the lack of pace, guile and finishing ability in the team is worrying. Unfortunately several of the players just aren't good enough - even at this level - and I think the loan market could be our only option.

I'm also really quite unimpressed this year. But the intentions of the OP are quite clear - more guff from the same usual suspects. Knock yourself out with the same self perpetuating misery if that's your choice.

I'm well aware of our shortcoming's this season. What's laughable (along with 1442 of your previous posts) is the idea that it's silly that Wilson had tried to play down any issues. But keep talking such shit. Superpig is loving it.

Oh yeah., nearly forgot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Westlake and Williams poor....Williams wasn't as good as previous games and Westlake did OK in the 2nd half.

They obviously aren't as good as Hill or McMahon or they would be first choice in those positions. What would you expect Wilson to say ' they are shit so we are fucked up for the next few games'

You seem to forget that,whilst it wasn't a great performance,Long didn't have a save to make in the 2nd half(other than the penalty)...doesn't that mean the defence played well ? MK had 4 shots on target to our two in the whole match. Not exactly over-run our defence were we?

The team has short comings and the lack of two good wide midfielders is obvious( bring back Willlo and get Gallagher in I reckon) but to have a go at DW for this quote is nonsense

If we go up,does it matter ? 2nd place is better than I hoped for at this stage of the season...I thought we would really struggle the get better after Xmas...we still might !
 
Wilson is doing a good job. That said, I'd like to see some of the youngsters feature more and a pacey winger on loan over Christmas.

You have always made it clear you never rated him - no problem with that, but to describe him as 'bastard' too is a bit OTT considering you've possibly never met the bloke.
I think we both know that that term is usually reserved for some unsavoury person who you don't like personally.
