You are the opposite of a spin doctor aren't you? Please tell me you work in marketing or PR for a living. That would make my day.
If it's a Spin Doctor you're after - look no further than McCabe!
Spin Doctors are for Politics - I like to be told as it is!
When I have spent hard earned money to watch sh!t performances from the circus that is Sheffield United FC week in week out I then don't expect the ringmaster to come out and tell me how good it is!
I do not expect him to come out and lambast the players, I expect him and his coaching staff to remedy the situation not to tell the fans follow the club home and away bullsh!t

PS The art of a good Spin Doctor is to be believable so the mass do not see the problems - take a long hard look at this and other forums - the majority do see problems and currently do not have faith in the managements' ability to sort them!

Majority? Bearing in mind the site has in excess of 2000 members that is some comment to make. You spin me right.round fiery....

Wake up and smell the coffee or or you in denial!
That old chestnut: "I'm right and if you don't agree with me, you're wrong". Everyone's got an opinion Fiery: some will agree with you, some won't.

I'm not suggesting that everything is rosy down at the Lane but at the same time, I don't see where being overly negative is going to get us. I just concentrate on getting behind my - our - team.

I fully agree with you Balham as regards everyone's got an opinion - I understand and respect that!

I don't think in this case I was been overly negative - more reacting to a comment from our manager that despite losing our two main fullbacks to injury in the same match that was not a problem - unfortunately my limited views of Westlake and more comprehensive watching of Williams over the past two seasons has started ringing alarm bells if....... we are relying on a strong defensive unit to win our games 1-0!
Whilst McMahon is not the best Westlake looks a poor replacement (I don't understand why we signed him unless of course he was a Free Transfer (Walsall didn't want him!) and unfortunately Williams is a no hoper wherever he plays)
I'm trying not to be negative but more realistic!

With a small squad, four currently injured, no goalkeeper to cover our rookie keeper (played really well up to date), little or no cover at centre back now Hills injured, no firepower up front despite having seven or eight 'strikers' on the books, no wingers or wide midfielders and MacDonald off the pace - very difficult to be positive!

I dont see the sky falling in but I would never be so deluded/arrogant to say I am in a minority or majority. Also, being in a majority doesn't actually make you right, it may just make you a sheep. But crack on Fiery, I look forward to you doing a negative spin on a 6-0 lucky win one day.

I take it all back. Yesterday's capitulation confirmed that Wilson should have panicked after the injuries. You were right all along Fiery.

Actually Alco, I reckon I was probably much more pleased with yesterday than you were - not just the result but the way they played - it was a revelation especially after the woeful performance at Milton Keynes.
What it did prove was that:
a) The players do have it in their locker to step up a gear and turn on a performance
b) Wilson did finally realise that Miller may be the right man to start up front
c) That Blackman has probably a lot more to his game and could do us a great job out wide
d) We probably have the skill and firepower to bury teams if we go out with the intention of 'winning' rather than going out with the intention of 'not losing'

I was never advocating Wilson to panic - we are still very vulnerable to injuries and suspensions with such a small squad (apart from strikers)
Great result yesterday against one of the more 'fancied' teams in this poor division - keep it up!!!!

And I completely agree with that Fiery - but that wasn't your original point.
Anyway, we've done this one to death. Great yesterday, wasn't it?

:)
