That's the point though isn't it, he didn't catapult into the air.

I also never said whether I thought it was a penalty or not. People here are saying he dived and threw himself to the floor. That's simply not true.

Whether contact was enough to award a penalty, well that's a different discussion.

Had that been VAR, it doesn't overturn it.
Without wishing to drag things out as you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but please look at the clip above. His legs jump up and sideways, hardly the natural consequence of contact with his thigh?

He cheated. Simple as that, and unfortunately his cheating was rewarded on the night.

Not natural no. But was contact made.. yes

Like Inter_blade83 said, although made the most of it, was still a penalty and wouldn't have been overturned by VAR

anyway 3 points required now becomes 2 realistically so we should all be pleased with that.

Then only clip above is the Wendy player flying???

I am genuinely baffled how some fans can honestly think that was a penalty. You only have to see how Morris answered the question when he was interviewed. If it was in any way shape or form a penalty he would be claiming it. His answer basically said he anticipated contact rather than there actually being any.

If anyone thinks that was a penalty then I assume that they think the one Rob Styles gave against us for Liverpool at the Lane when Gerrard dived and Morgan never touched him, was a penalty too. The decision then and the decision tonight both laughably bad. Still, it takes all sorts and we all have our opinion.

100% VAR overturns that tonight.

Disgusting arrogant cheat to get that pen. Hope Luton stay down for a long long time!

Twk games kn hand 3 points needed u fuckin fannys dnt piss bed or what smoggkes lr some cunts frkm bedflrd r doin we baytrt dem baggies n we up pal on a WENSDAY waaahhh ha ha ah we up lads

If we only got 2 points from the next 4 games during a regular part of the season we’d all be fuming. We should be aiming to achieve 8 points minimum. Forget 2.

The only thing I'd disagree with you on is that the decision to give a penalty is "laughably bad".

In real time, from certain angles, it would look like a foul which is why the referee gave it. I guarantee the bulk of the TV audience thought it was a penalty too until the close up replays.

The fault does not belong with referees that belongs to the players. And all of them cheat - ours too - and so the ref is going to be conned by this sometimes.

I didn't think it was a pen at first glance in real time. Also from two of the angles it doesn't look like he gets touched at all. Then the angle from the front clearly shows the keepers thigh making contact with the standing foot as its lifted. At the speed he's going he'd do well to stay on his feet.

VAR doesn't turn that over either way. Some you get, some you don't. It's marginal.

There’s no way that was anything else but a pure and unadulterated dive.

I’ve seen it dozens of times now and there’s no angle that makes it even close to being a penalty.

Even the much maligned VAR overturns that.

Fortunately it will be pretty much immaterial in terms of our season, but imagine if that was given against us, I can’t imagine you’d be defending it then?

100% that was cheating, 100%.

I was watching the game last night and hadn't really noticed before how run down Kenilworth Road looks. When we went up Bramall Lane needed investment for Sky and the Premier League, so if Luton manage to get promoted they're gone to have to spend a shed load on improving the facilities I imagine.

There was an article about this recently, apparently up to £10M of improvements will be needed, partly inflated by the short window in which the works need to be completed ahead of the new season.

There was a similar amount of contact for Jebbos at the weekend, and he even touched the ball ever so slightly... Still a pen.

Boro fans reall do think their team is the bees bollocks. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them think they can still finish top 2.

We get assaulted in the box and get fuck all yet they give Luton that. 1 pen all season. No recognition at all in any rewards. Refs who constantly shaft us. Starting to think we are not very liked by the establishment
