Boro fans not taking it well either

Boro have this weird obsession with us cheating. They seem to have it in their head that we've smashed FFP. Are they priming Gibson for another pointless court case?

Did they give us a game? I don't think we moved out of neutral tbh.
Just got in from club so if this has been said be4 I oppologise. Most of game we were far too slow yet again. Don't think we won a second ball all game. So many players off form berge, bogle, Lowe, to name but a few. Goalkeeper had a good game ndiaye was his usual self Robinson MOM for me. Love you all blades fans good night.

Plenty of worse teams than them at BL this season

Kaba looks a very good signing and someone decent in this league will sign him if they go down

Luckily for them it looks like QPR might beat them to it. Incredible turnaround there, from what they were earlier in the season. Fuck knows what's gone wrong. Even the manager departure doesn't nearly explain it

The substitutions made by PH used to worry me. Especially when they replaced quality players who were knackered, or on the possibility of a second yellow.
The subs today were very good. All primed to push themselves because they had been dropped or injured.
A great bench today.
Picking the team for the cup game should be very interesting. At least we know Doyle and McAtee will be well rested for the next league game after the cup semi final.

Have Norwood and Fleck done enough to merit selection for the City game? Which midfielders on the bench for that game?

They’re right about the importance of the keeper. Allsop might have saved the first and looked weak on the fourth. Limited teams can’t survive that..

We’d never have dropped into L1 if we had a decent one, and we’d have been back up inside a year too.

Anyway, Cardiff played with enough fight to give them hope, though they’re clearly limited. We just showed a couple of moments quality in an otherwise very ropey effort.
Good points.

This chap seems to understand how football works

“We’ve lost by 3 goals.
Those are the facts.
Those that think we’ve played well can chalk it up on their ‘played well’ league table.”

Incredible isn’t it. Every week they say we’re nothing special, or just not very good, after we’ve beaten them.

I’ve been reading the view from for ages and I don’t remember a season’s comments like this.
I think it’s fair to say that we’ve played many games where we’ve looked like we’ve never got out of 2nd gear. We’ve coasted through.

Opposition fans often mention this by then saying that we’re not very good. But it doesn’t make sense to say we’ve not had to push ourselves to easily beat an opponent, then follow this by saying we’re not very good

We don’t have a free flowing style, most of the time. We’ve got the likes of Berge, McAtee, Bogle and Ndiaye that have the skills to unlock sides easily and they do.

We have a side which is extremely organised and hard working, so we’re hard to break down. Earlier in the season sides didn’t even try to break us down at home they sat in.

Now the season is nearing the end we’ve got teams coming at us a lot more because they’re either desperate to stay up or pushing to get into 2nd place or play offs

Yesterday was a perfect example of a side having a go, then eventually getting picked off with ease. Individual bits of brilliance but also forcing sides into making errors.

We do have a habit of making things difficult for ourselves at times, but generally, this season we’ve been a step above most sides and we’ve done it consistently

Cheers Panchero!

Seems to have replaced the 'worst we've played all season' of all the opposition in that first premier season 🤪

They had height advantage over a pretty small back 5 and a keeper who doesn't dominate his area
They also had a lot of pace again up against a back 6 that had been thrown together and let's be honest They did well against us
They looked a bit raw and a bit laughably bad at times but they are fucking hard to defend against
Second half we swapped things round a bit and cut out the main danger of them winning the first ball hoofed up to them and tightened up on the second ball and looked much better
They're only real threat coming from a series of comedy mishit shots eventually falling to Wickham who hand balled it before hitting the bar with an unstoppable effort that Davies would not have stopped

One thing i would like to add to a lot of the posters on here who never seem happy even when we win is that this bunch of players Is not that good

A poor level of opponent and a few outstanding individuals
Ndiaye mcatee and Doyle added to Norwood anel and mcburnie earlier in the season allied to consumate pros like baldock and Egan and helped along by the experience and know how of older stalwarts like Sharp fleck etc

The manager has had to work his bollox off to gel this squad together to get results every week
Out managing kompany and Carrick by a country fucking mile in my opinion and I think its time some of you started to realise this and enjoy the fact that winning most weeks is a good thing and being around the top of your league is a good time
Fuck knows you will have plenty to cry about next season no matter how this one ends

Boro will suffer from ‘Carrick 2nd season syndrome’ if they don’t go up. Akpom can’t keep scoring every shot and Archer goes back.

They certainly have a tedious ‘holier than thou’ attitude about them, which seems to have filtered down from Gibson.

Funnily enough, though, I seem to recall reading a piece in the close season about 4 Championship clubs teetering on the brink of FFP infractions this season - Reading, Bristol City, Stoke and whiter than white, Middlesbrough.

In the event, Middlesbrough appeared to have swerved that FFP breach by dint of Tottenham inexplicably signing Djed Spence for £20m, despite nobody at Spurs - least of all the manager who expressed it publicly - actually wanting Spence or having a role for him.

Is Gibson big mates with Levy because that transfer looks increasingly bizarre? There’s no doubt that it certainly got Middlesbrough out of pickle...

That Bidace for Cardiff on loan from Villa looked handy and one to keep in mind Big, Athletic and Skilful whilst also not being shy to have a shot from distance.

We didn’t beat them comfortably either until Ndiayes goal and they gave up after that.

Once we went ahead I felt they ran out of ideas other than the Wickham chance. For a team that has a good clean sheets record we don’t half look panicky at times

I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that nearly all of the threatening moments Cardiff had came from our own poor play. My blood pressure has rarely been as high.

Doyle passing it across his own area.
Robinson giving it away in front of the dugouts.
Bogle defending like he’s pissed.
Lowe kicking their player in the head.
Iliman with a needless bobbling back pass.
Baldock not dealing with a bouncing ball.
Sander misplacing a square pass.

Cardiff made use of their height advantage but apart from a couple of runs from the lad with big hair, we were genuinely our own worst enemy. Hopefully we’ve had our nervous wobble and can get a grip versus Brizzle.

Thankyou Roy, more sterling work👍

They came, they saw, we conquered.
On to the next, and 2 more wins!!!
6 points and I will believe!

And to everyone going to Wembley, let's all enjoy the day, sing loud and proud!!
Hopefully Billy can bag his 250th infront of 30k cheering Blades at a sunny Wembley stadium next week!!!
Think he deserves it!

COYRAWW!

100% mate. It was all our own mistakes through panicking. We really need to just get over the line and then enjoy ourselves for the last couple of games.

I don’t think the crowd is helping, we got right behind the team when we went 1-0 down but then equalised and silence. The only song I heard throughout the game prior to Ndiayes goal was ‘Jack O’Connells magic’

All these "Sheffield united will come straight back down " comments, while they could be right do they think that it will be the same squad of players when we do go up? Think we may get some out and some in.

Bournemouth were similar last season. Average team but promoted, their style has suited the Premiership. I think you’ll see the introduction of Jebbo more next season. Probably Brewster loaned out with a recall option if we can get another pacy striker in.

I presume he has a future at Villa but Cameron Archer would be my preference if Boro don’t go up.

Boro fans not taking it well either

These players we ”haven’t paid for”

Are they referring to Brewster?

…and yes it is weird they still think they‘re the better team when we’ve proved all season they’re not.

Cant stand their fans, hope Luton stuff em in the playoffs.

Can't beat Sunday Morning Reading daily Roygbiv before Yorkshire pudding cheers sir 👍🏻
