If there is a 3pm blackout, the game could still KO 12.15 and be just about done by 3, even with et/pens.

Saying that, it probably will be 17.15 or 17.30, potentially finishing after 8pm (though far more likely to finish before 19.30). If that's the case there will only be one do-able train to Sheff and one to Donny.

Wembley Park has trains to Watford Junction, where you can connect to trains to Birmingham and change again for Sheffield but I doubt that is much easier (or cheaper).

It's Underground only at Wembley Park, the Met line goes to Watford, not Watford Junction. You might be thinking of Wembley Central which has direct London Overground links to Watford Junction.

Really hope the kick off time is confirmed. Looks highly probable it’ll be half 5, but I’ve also seen half 4 mentioned as a possibility, which would give a bit more breathing room for the last train back to Sheffield.

On the topic of trains, EMR seem to be operating a reduced service on this date (there’s usually 3 trains an hour, but just 1). I wonder if they’ll put on extra trains? Would be daft not to. I know they have on prior occasions.
