Berge

The days of some hard-tackling midfielder winning the ball and giving it to another creative midfielder are gone. It worked in the Hockey and Currie era, but everybody is as fit as fuck these days, and will run all over you if you aren't as quick. Yes, I do mean Berge.....

He's not bothered if we go up or not. He knows he can just swan off at end of the season if we don't go up.

If hecky has got anything about him as a manager he'll drop him next match. Can't be shown to think that kind of lacklustre performance is acceptable by anybody in the squad.

I seem to detect a distinct absence of takers for our gigantic passenger....

Hecky hasn’t got a bollocking in him. That just wasn’t acceptable from Berge today. Talk about going through the motions. I can take us losing but lack of effort just boils my piss.

Fulham, unbelievably, we're willing to pay £20m for him a month ago and we inexplicably turned it down.

They'll be more than a few clubs daft enough to give us half that in the summer with a year left on his contract.

No way 20 millions would have been turned down.

We turned it down because we wouldn’t have got a replacement in.

Those saying we would have got O’Brien don’t know that we would have actually managed to get out of embargo and then sign him before the deadline - look at Blackburn they couldn’t sign him in time and they didn’t even have an embargo to deal with!

Berge didn't give a shit today. We are to slow at closing players down.We give them way to much time on the ball.Wednesday we closed spurs down and stopped there chances and should be doing that against all the teams.Think hecky has done a good job ,players are letting him down.

Why do we wait until late to make changes it was obvious after HT this group were not at the races. The longer it went unchanged the more Blackburn grew in confidence.

Saunter Berge, those three quick breakaways by Blackburn first half and he just doesn’t react at all, should be busting a gut to chase back. The other two in midfield were almost as bad today though.

Exactly. I have thought for some time that he just doesn't want to get injured. So half hearted in most tackles, doesn't use his height often enough for headers, doesn't track back enough as I assume he thinks his hammy might go.

He is afraid to be aggressive and at 6.5ft he should scare most of the opposition.

They were all crap today but berge stands out because of his lazy style of play, people will say mcburnie played well because he looks like he's battling but in reality he was hopeless, barely won a header, fluffed a great chance and couldn't trap a bag of sand. You need your forward to hold it up and bring the likes of berge into play but he didn't do that at all, Sharp back in for the next game

They were all shite from Keeper to Striker.. Mcburnie was walking pace to a light jogging pace at most for the whole game.

Even Wes, left over three quarters of the goal wide open for their first (yes he was still expected to score but West made it far too easy for him) and was erratic with his punching and kicking today.

I've come to the definite conclusion our best midfield doesn't include Berge.

Maybe (big maybe) he's better as an impact sub like at spurs

Or... Just not playing at all!
Maybe he'll be better if he realizes his place is under threat.

It seems there are one or two players who just get picked because of what they might do not what they are recently actually doing.

Fleck is handy to have in the squad but I'd much rather just go with the two City lads and Norwood behind Ndiaye and McBurnie.

Should have let him go in the JTW, paid off the embargo and signed a couple of new players.

Unpopular I know but we have all being saying the same thing about him for 2 seasons.

UTB
That was the logical move and we could have brought in OBrian, but the Prince probably wanted silly money for him.
He could now just run down his contact next season.

Unless he's playing further forward he's not effective enough. That's his position. I guess with Bogle he doesn't have the freedom to do that as much. Maybe with baldock it works better but it's a 50/50 as to who is more effective him or Bogle then 🤷‍♂️

He won a couple of headers today, I’m saying that progress 🤷‍♂️
